Poor Mike Lorenzo-Vera bogeys the ninth - his last hole - to finish round two on six under. He and five others are two shots behind leader Li Haotong, who went out early on Friday.
Is this going to China's weekend in San Francisco?
The 2011 Masters winner Charl Schwartzel celebrates like he's won the Wanamaker Trophy. In fact, it was to celebrate making par which sees him finish on one over and secure a spot for this weekend.
Lovely lofted shot from Joel Dahmen, who was in a bit of bother in the rough on the ninth. However, it's a putt for a double bogey... which he fluffs up.
What a shame. He drops back to three under.
Frenchman Mike Lorenzo-Vera waggles his putter and sinks his par putt. One to play.
Just a handful of players left out on course - the key man being Mike Lorenzo-Vera. He's at seven under.
Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick - two under after Thursday - will miss the cut after finishing on four over. A bad day for the 25-year-old.
Joel Dahmen, who we haven't mentioned, chips in on the par three eighth. He's now at six under.
It is so tight at the top - sixteen players are within four shots of leader Li Haotong.
Justin Thomas is agonisingly close to a birdie on the last from a chip off the green - he finishes on one over. The projected cut is one over and he should be fine.
Tiger Woods finishes with par for evens, and it's par for Rory McIlroy who is on one under heading into round three.
After finishing on six under, two shots behind leader Li Haotong, Brooks Koepka said: "I feel like it could have been a lot better, I could have tidied a few things up. I hit a bunch of putts that could have gone in and left a few short, but I like where I’m at and I’m excited for the weekend."
The defending champion received treatment several times during his round and added that it was for a tight hip, which he says was like that when he woke up.
A decent three-under-par 67 for former number one Dustin Johnson in the second round - he's four under. It could have been a lot better with some relatively easy putts that went astray, including one at the 18th.
Justin Rose secures par with an eight-foot putt - a mini fist pump from the Englishman because he's in contention at six under.
Jordan Spieth sneaks into the weekend despite making a bogey at the last - he's at one over.
World number one Justin Thomas' weekend hopes hang by a thread - a par at the 17th means he's at one over. A dropped shot at the last and he's going home.
Tiger Woods (E) also makes par as does Rory McIlroy (-1).
Frenchman Mike Lorenzo-Vera (-7) avoids a host a trees to find the green on the sixth.
Shane Lowry, who snapped an iron, grabs par at the last to remain on evens and book his spot at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Brooks Koepka does finish with a birdie to start the third round only two shots behind leader Li Haotong.
Sounds like the joint overnight leader Jason Day had to have a word with himself on his way to a one-under 69 today.
"I didn't drive it as well as yesterday and being out of position makes it difficult to get close to these holes," he said. "But going into the weekend, it's always nice to be in contention at a major championship.
"I was still working hard but going about things the wrong way. Finally I changed my attitude and the emotions on the course. I'm a lot happier when my back isn't hurting and right now I feel great."
Brooks Koepka produces a tremendous approach on the 18th. A birdie chance for the defending champion to go to six under.
He would join Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Daniel Berger and Jason Day in tied third.
Actually it's just a birdie for Thomas (+1), but also one each for Woods (E) and McIlroy (-1).
On to the 17th.
Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy all look that they will get at least a birdie from the 16th. Thomas actually has an eagle chance after a great drive.
Li Haotong is still practising - this time chipping balls on to the green.
I feel sorry for his caddie. Admittedly, I will feel less sorry for his caddie if Li wins.
Mike Lorenzo-Vera has yet another birdie chance - this time the Frenchman misses by a couple of inches. It's par at the fifth.
Four holes remaining and he sits pretty at seven under - one behind leader Li Haotong.
World number one Justin Thomas is in danger of missing the cut - he is on two over and misses another birdie opportunity.
Tiger Woods drops a shot - he is at one over.
We could be without Thomas, Woods and McIlroy (E) at the weekend.
Tiger Woods finds himself in very deep rough at the 15th green, but does well to play himself out of trouble - he's left with huge putt though.
The 15-time major winner is at evens - the projected cut is one over.
