  1. Projected cut now at one overpublished at 23:05 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Tiger Woods (-1) pops one up from a flat-lying bunker - a man of his talents perhaps should have landed that within two feet on the fourth hole.

Justin Thomas (+1) has an eagle chance, but his effort from just off the green is about two feet short. Easy birdie.

The projected cut is now at one over which is good news for Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson and Ian Poulter.

The wind is really picking up at Harding Park - we might not get those low scores we were expecting from the late crew.

  5. I'm missing the fans - Caseypublished at 22:53 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Paul Casey has just spoken after shooting a three-under 67 to move to five under after the opening two rounds.

“Through 36 I’m very happy," he said. "I’ve missed the fans and I’m slowly getting the energy back so the last two days have been great fun.

"I've got John McLaren back on the bag and he brings so much to my game, but I’ve struggled with the lack of fans. I’ve found it strange standing on the first tee not being nervous. I know it has to be like this because of the pandemic but I wish they were out here."

Xander Schauffele's GPS must be feeding off four satellites - his long iron-shot sees the ball land within three feet of the sixth hole.

He makes his birdie and moves to six under - two off the lead.

After Rory McIlroy drops a shot at the third:

"The one thing I'd be worried about is his first three iron shots of the day, he's missed two of them right of the green.

"It is a strange one, but he's under the gun. It's difficult playing at a major when you're aiming at a pin that's short-side. The pressure is on you to hit the green and you have to deliver"

  8. Bogeys for McIlroy and Woodspublished at 22:49 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Unlucky for Rory McIlroy who drops back to evens. The Northern Irishman had it all to do after his shot to the third green found the bank on the right. The escape was followed by a brilliant putt which was well judged, but lacked the necessary pace.

Tiger Woods misjudges another putt - it runs straight, no break and also a bogey.

The American is back at one under.

Mr Cole: Top 100 for the last decade... Mickelson, Rose, DJ, Garcia, Westwood, McIlroy, Day, Bubba for certain. Torn between Fowler (too young?) or the ever presents (like Kuchar, Molinari, Oosthuizen, Scott)

  10. Koepka moves to six underpublished at 22:44 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Brooks Koepka makes his birdie - of course he was going to make the birdie.

  11. Postpublished at 22:41 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

World number 11 Xander Schauffele, one of those tipped to win, has a birdie chance on five, but just comes up short. He taps in for par to remain on five under.

There are six players currently on five under.

Defending champion Brooks Koepka - looking for his third successive US PGA win - attacks the green from 290-ish yards on the par-five fourth which stretches 607 yards. The ball bounces out of the flat bunker and finds the ridge on the right.

    Eventual birdie chance.

An excellent potential par save for McIlroy on the second following a good putt to within a few feet - his play to the large green left him with a lot to do.

That fluffed tap-in by Rickie Fowler earlier cost him more than just one shot, it could end his run of making the cut at 14 consecutive majors. A one-under 69 today nudged the American to two over. That may not be enough to still be around this weekend.

It seems to matter little if you find the rough here at Harding Park -Jason Day plays a beauty of an approach from what seemed an awkward lie on the par-four fifth.

The Australian, who won in 2015, is on six under - two off the lead.

He was nowhere near that - it was only about four or five feet and didn't break.
