It's a par for Daniel Berger (-6) at the first.

A reminder that when I woke up today Li was still practising at the Harding Park course - slight exaggeration, but he was still on course hours after he finished his second round.

Anyway, the 25-year-old Chinese player who barely found a fairway on Friday finds the cloth on the first, unlike Fleetwood who is in the rougher stuff.

  4. Leader Li on the teepublished at 23:02 British Summer Time 8 August 2020

Cameron Champ (-6), who birdied the first, will have to settle for par on the second after his putt comes up short.

Brooks Koepka has about 15 feet on the same hole.

Get ready for leader Li Haotong... and England's Tommy Fleetwood - the final pairing.

  5. Koepka's frightening major record since 2016published at 23:00 British Summer Time 8 August 2020

Brooks Koepka is of course the two-time defending champion at the US PGA, but here's a few more reasons why he's the favourite heading into the weekend...

Tiger Woods shows frustration at the 2020 US PGA ChampionshipImage source, EPA

It was a frustrating day for Tiger Woods before he birdied two of his last three holes to card a two-over 72, leaving him two over for the week.

"I didn't make anything [putts] early," he said. "The greens are getting crusty and firm, and I hit a few poor shots which gave me bad angles. I just didn't make the putts to get my round going so I fell behind and couldn't get it back."

  15. Spieth disappointments continuepublished at 22:34 British Summer Time 8 August 2020

The tweet below was from the other day.

Today Jordan Spieth produced a six-over-par round of 76 to be at seven over for the championship - the same Jordan Spieth who had won three majors in two years by the age of 23.

The former world number one is now down to world number 62.

Unlike Tiger Woods whose injuries and personal life led to his descent, with Spieth it just seems his entire game has disappeared.

He's only 27 and time is on his side.

Justin Thomas had an eventful round today. The new world number one birdied five of his first seven holes to get within four of the lead.

But the American then hit two straight bogeys, plus two more on his last three holes, to finish with a two-under 68 - one under overall.

“This isn’t a course where you can keep your foot on the gas and shoot nine or 10 under par," he said. "I still had some birdie chances in front of me but just couldn’t take advantage of them.

"I let a really good round go, and really had a great opportunity to put myself in a good position going into tomorrow. I just didn't capitalise on the back nine. It’s really disappointing to finish the way I did. It’s a bummer, I’ve potentially cost myself a chance to win this thing.”

  17. Mask watchpublished at 22:28 British Summer Time 8 August 2020

Today we focus on Brooks Koepka.

On his way to practice, the 2018 and 2019 champion was wearing your standard blue 'six for £4.99 from a supermarket'.

Very Koepka. "It's a mask," he would have said.

  20. What happened to the Hollywood trio?published at 22:25 British Summer Time 8 August 2020

The golfers in question are Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas, who were grouped together for the opening rounds.

World number one Thomas just about made the cut and started at one over - he went around Harding Park in 68 to go to one under. More on him in a bit.

Woods just never got going - he was level to start with and finished two over thanks to a birdie-par-birdie finish, having earlier recorded three successive bogeys.

McIlroy has fared the best so far - he's two under so far and three under overall. He could do with picking up a few more shots on the final five holes.
