  1. 'Good high to ride into tomorrow' - Harigaepublished at 22:03 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 2&1 (F)

The USA rookies get the job done and here's what Mina Harigae had to say, speaking to Sky Sports:

Mina Harigae: "I didn’t think we had anything to prove. I think we were just ready and champing at the bit.

"We were able to rest this morning, we slept in a little. My adrenalin is off the chart right now though."

"I think we go in (to the singles) with confidence. It’s a good high to ride into tomorrow."

  2. Reid & Maguire draw levelpublished at 22:03 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire A/S Kupcho & Salas (15)

Oh hello. What's this birdie putts for Leona Maguire and Mel Reid on the 15th. In they pop. Three birdies apiece for the Europeans.

The best Jennifer Kupcho and Lizette Salas can manage is bogey.

    That leaderboard aged quickly!

  4. US draw levelpublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 2UP (16)

All over. The United States' Solheim Cup rookies Yealimi Noh and Mina Harigae have drawn them level at 6½-6½ in the match.

Neither European player could fashion a birdie meaning the US duo had two putts apiece for the match and Noh rolled up her birdie putt to a foot.

Not like we didn't see that coming over the last couple of holes.

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 2UP (16)

Big, big shot from Yealimi Noh who arrows an iron shot inside Mina Harigae and Sophia Popov's approaches to the pin.

Celine Boutier launches hers towards the putting surface but comes up left and a little short to leave herself 25-30 feet from the cup. Minimum.

The Americans just need to halve this hole to close out this match.

    1UP Ciganda & Madsen v J Korda & Khang (16)

The 16th is a 270-yard driveable par four. Carlota Ciganda has the power to get pin-high but she's in the rough. A delightful chip across the green to four feet though.

Meghan Khang from the apron, is too hot with her chip and gets zero action on the ball. It scuds past the hole and into the fringe rough.

Jessica Korda is chipping from fringe rough at the front of the green. Great touch. Three feet left for birdie.

And a pair of birdies it is. Hole halved.

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas 1UP (14)

Lizette Salas and Jennifer Kupcho just about holding Leona Maguire and Mel Reid at bay.

Four pars. Roll on the 15th.

  8. Who will lead after day two?published at 21:39 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

How are you feeling out there? Let's see where you think the lead will be at the end of today's play.

Hit thumbs up for Europe. Thumbs down for USA...

    3UP Hull & Pedersen v Kang and Ernst (13)

Meanwhile back on the green, where Charley Hull and Emily Pedersen await...

Pedersen's chance to put Europe 4Up doesn't quite make it, sliding to the right of the cup. An annoyed slap of the putter tells you all you need to know about what she thought of that missed chance.

  10. Ciganda holes huge puttpublished at 21:36 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Ciganda & Madsen v J Korda & Khang (15)

There is only one person on the 15th who can get down for birdie. That person is Europe's Carlota Ciganda. She's got a 30-footer, down the slope.

She gives her ball a nudge down the hill and takes a couple of paces to her right as she watches the ball tracking to the hole... in it goes.

    Great time to go 1UP.

  11. Noh & Harigae extend their leadpublished at 21:36 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 2UP (16)

Celine Boutier for birdie on the 16th. The French golfer is normally pretty reliable from this sort of range...around 12 feet.

But is that a slight misread, she starts it left but it just carries on straight. Yealimi Noh makes no mistake, dropping hers in.

Sophia Popov now with a chance to halve the hole for Europe... but it's wide.

    3UP Hull & Pedersen v Kang and Ernst (12)

Danielle Kang has to let rip with a cry of 'FORE LEFT' as she hits a little wild, and smiles a little ruefully, but it looks as though everyone is ok.

And just of its own volition, the ball just rolls a little further down the slope while Kang and caddy have a natter about it!

Austin Ernst from the fairway goes to the right - and into the sand. Oh dear dear. She manages to get out of the gritty stuff safe.

    Ciganda & Madsen A/S J. Korda & Khang (14)

Jessica Korda's caddie instructs his player to go for the centre of the green on the 15th. The flag is tucked on the left, right behind a bunker, so it's clearly the sensible play. She's a little too conservative, going back right.

"What is wrong with you?" Meghan Khang asks herself after also leaking her ball to the right edge of the green.

Carlota Ciganda goes straight at the flag and is understandably a little long. Back left of the green.

Just Nanna Madsen left. She's coming out of the rough so aims to the right of the bunker and leaves herself a little chip from the front edge. Four very different shots coming up.

  14. Postpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas 1UP (13)

Leona Maguire and Mel Reid into the rough down the right on 14, which ain't great when the opening to the green is from the left side of the fairway.

Textbook stuff from Jennifer Kupcho in comparison.

  15. Postpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas 1UP (13)

What a putt. What a fist pump. Europe's Leona Maguire drills a long putt in for birdie on the par-five 13th. Didn't she enjoy that.

Mel Reid is also travelling on the birdie train but Lizette Salas has a putt to halve the hole from 10-12 feet.

And she doesn't miss those. Well not yet anyway.

    This is utterly engrossing.

  17. Postpublished at 21:20 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Ciganda & Madsen A/S J. Korda & Khang (14)

Ciganda again goes agonisingly close to winning the hole but she can't quite convert it again and Europe have to settle for another half that keep the match all square.

This is yet another match looking primed to go the distance!

  18. Postpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 1UP (15)

Boutier has miles to cover to win the hole and when she can’t manage it then Popov sticks in her par putt to halve the hole and remain just one down.

Popov is still hyped for this match and it’s amazing to think that the last time she was at Inverness Golf Club last summer she was a caddie hoping to make the Solheim Cup carrying the bag of Anna van Dam!

  19. Pedersen does it again as Europe increase leadpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    3UP Hull & Pedersen v Kang and Ernst (12)

Emily Pedersen is around 25ft away for her birdie, so everyone from the back of the green are chipping away.

Ohh this is awkward - Danielle Kang prepared to chip but her caddy (Pedersen's boyfriend) pointed out that it is actually her turn to putt. And she birdies, with just the merest of a fist-pump.

It doesn't guarantee the win yet - Kang's turn and she picks one of her four wedges and it was so close.

But... Pedersen's putt clinches another hole for Europe.

  20. Europe go 2Up in anchor matchpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Hull & Pedersen v Kang and Ernst (11)

Charley Hull's approach to the 11th pin was beautiful, and the birdies from both Europeans take them 2 Up.

Onto the 12th and Pedersen is onto the green, but Charley Hull puts a little too much on it as she ends up in the fluffy stuff at the back of the green.

Danielle Kang really does relish a crowd doesn't she. All smiles as she steps up and the ball whizzes up by the flag - but it too ends up the spongy nonsense at the back of the green.

So what can Austin Ernst do? She joins her partner at the back of the green too, in fact her ball runneth over and rolls down the bank.

Could we see another hole go Europe's way?
