  1. Pumped-up Popov gets one backpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 2UP (10)

Somebody go get Sophia Popov as she's almost left the property when walking in her birdie putt that ends up winning the 10th hole and getting Europe back into the contest.

She's jogging off giving it full beans in celebration - the German obviously needs to get fired up and that'll do it!

  2. Europe all-square once more in last fourballpublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Hull & Pedersen A/S Kang and Ernst (7)

Hang about... just as the leaderboard was looking quite depressing from a European point of view, along comes Emily Pedersen, continuing her redemption of her Solheim Cup debut. She pars the seventh, and we are all-square once more.

OK - we know that is not the same as a splash of blue - but baby steps, people. Baby steps.

  3. Reid gets medical attentionpublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas 1UP (7)

Mel Reid plays her second into the thicker stuff and then stops off for a bit of treatment before playing her third, which zips on the dance floor but well past the pin.

Leona Maguire's finds the putting surface but then spins back six-right feet. She could have done without that.

Plenty of shouts of 'Go USA' but this hole very much up for grabs with neither Lizette Salas or Jennifer Kupcho in any better shape.

  5. No blue on the boardpublished at 19:44 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Ciganda & Madsen A/S J. Korda & Khang (8)

Ciganda can't make her putt from around the eight foot mark, and just like that there's no more blue on the board at all as this match goes back to all square.

At this rate the USA will nudge themselves into the lead going into Monday's singles.

  6. USA rookies rampant in top matchpublished at 19:42 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 3UP (9)

It's all USA in this top match as the rampant rookie pairing goes three up thanks to another excellent putting display from Harigae.

There's so many facets to golf but in these big team events it often comes down to what you can do on the greens under pressure - and right now Europe can't buy a putt while the USA are making everything.

  7. Postpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas 1UP (7)

Mel Reid is timing the ball beautifully from the tee box. If only that could translate to her putting strokes.

  8. Postpublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas 1UP (7)

Some chat abut putting grips on the TV as Mel Reid sends a long runner up the hill towards the hole. It deviates slightly left before slowing a yard or two so past the hole.

But, after watching Lizette Salas and Jennifer Kapucho make par, she then fails to make her own.

Must feel like an age since Leona Maguire knocked on and it shows in her putt, which looks a little forced and slips by.

    Hull & Pedersen v Kang and Ernst 1UP (6)

Charley Hull knows at this stage it is all about staying in contention, and not letting Team USA get too confident - it is a must-make putt for her to tie the hole, from about 6-7ft out, and it flirts coyly with the edge before dropping in.

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas 1UP (6)

Great shot. Lizette Salas blasts on to the seventh green playing out of the rough a couple of yards from the red markers down the right.

The 32-year-old is playing a superb array of shots at present.

That's a lush reply from Leona Maguire. Laser-guided in fact right into the heart of the elevated green. With a few skips its up at cup level and she, and Europe, are looking good.

  12. Bubba meets Dame Laurapublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Bubba Watson is a Solheim Cup fanboy this week, and he looks thrilled to meet tournament royalty, and almost genuine royalty, in Dame Laura Davies...

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 2UP (8)

Boutier curls a nice birdie in on eight but the pressure is soaked up by Harigae who replies in kind to keep that two hole lead.

They're in charge of the top match are Team USA but this pair of rookies will not want this to get any closer.

  15. Some blue on the board!published at 19:24 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Ciganda & Madsen v J. Korda & Khang (7)

What's this!? Some blue appears on the board but it's taken Nanna Madsen to land an absolute bomb from downtown Toledo to drag the European team back into the contest.

Madsen gives it a muted low five with Ciganda, who is positively jumping after that. They say opposites attract, and Europe are hoping the fiery Spaniard and level-headed Dane can prove to be perfect partners.

  16. Salas birdie gives US duo the leadpublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas1UP (6)

Lizette Salas' putter is scorchio at the moment. She drains a par-saving put from 12 feet or so as if it was from gimme range.

Mel Reid makes bogey for Europe heaping the pressure on Leona Maguire, who has a hole-saving putt from 10 feet(ish).

Nerves of steel...wait how has that not dropped? The Americans go one up.

  17. USA lead in the anchor matchpublished at 19:19 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Kang and Ernst 1UP (5)

    Kang ErnstImage source, Getty Images

Emily Pederson hits a beauty at the fifth with her wedge, but Charley Hull is having a bit of a shocker as she finds the sand.

Austin Ernst with the best strike of lot of them. 'Be good' she says. It is as it nestles about 5ft from the pin.

From the sand, Hull actually par putts.

Now what can Pedersen do to put a little pressure on - she ends up just a little wide from maybe 10ft out.

Here comes the danger as Ernst about 5ft away is certain to daub a splash of red on that board.

The cheers say it all. USA take the lead in the anchor match with a birdie.

  18. Americans all smiles in the afternoonpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

  19. Postpublished at 19:09 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire A/S Kupcho & Salas (5)

Jennifer Kupcho does not look pleased. She fizzes her iron on to the dance floor and then sees it run off to that thicker cut at the back.

Still it could be worse. Mel Reid is getting her bucket and spade out after playing out of the rough on the left and into the right-side bunker. Just couldn't control that one given a difficult lie.

  20. Postpublished at 19:05 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 2UP (7)

Boutier rescues a half from the seventh thanks to her jamming her par putt in from from around 10 feet at an express pace. It was take dead aim and fire from the French star as she fired her effort right at it - it was travelling at speed but thankfully for her dropped in after it rammed into the back of the cup.

Harigae thought she'd have two putts for the hole, but with it down to one she couldn't find the target.
