  1. Europe win 2&1!published at 00:04 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Koepka & Spieth v Rahm & Garcia 2&1 (F)

The Spanish duo do it! Thanks to a fine chip from Sergio it's enough to close out the match.

And what a shot from Garcia, from what essentially is a mini mountain of grass, to hack it out and send it rolling down to no more than about three feet.

What a shot from Spieth too! He matches Garcia, albeit from closer in and they're both around the same distance for their pars.

Koepka has a roll at his birdie that would extend the match but he guns it through the break so the hats come off and the handshakes are done as Europe's magic pairing does it again.

  2. Nerveless Lowrypublished at 00:04 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

Oh what a reaction from Shane Lowry!

They have one it by one hole on the 18th.

Europe are still far behind but they so, so needed that.

    That was nerveless!

  3. Lowry clinches matchpublished at 00:04 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (F)

Tyrrell Hatton just doesn't get quite enough on his bunker shot and it fails to scamper down the bank, he sinks almost to his knees in frustration. Luckily for him, Tony Finau's third also zips to a halt short of where he wanted to put it.

Shane Lowry stands over his par putt. Concentrates on the line and wriggles it in from six feet or so. There we go! The Irishman throws his putter, flings his arms in the air and roars in delight.

The hat comes off, Tyrrell Hatton is fist pumping in the background. That's what it means!

    Huge point for Europe.

A lot of the players - who aren’t involved in this afternoon’s fourballs - leave that group of Spieth/Koepka and Rahm/Garcia to see what’s happening in the match behind.

Europe captain Padraig Harrington is here, glugging a good gulp of water before sharing a smile with a team member.

Think it was more of an anxious smile than anything else.

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (17)

Shane Lowry is in one of those sandy, shingly bunkers and can only lay up out of there. His third is good though, leaving a 10-footer for par. Europe just need to at least match whatever the Americans do here...

    1UP DeChambeau & Scheffler v Fleetwood & Hovland (15)

Bryson DeChambeau is a little feast or famine. He lands in a bunker for his first, and his second shot lands hm in more trouble, but thankfully not in the drink.

But after his stunning birdie putt to put the Americans in the lead at the 15th, could he throw that away and had the advantage to the Europeans?

Between the 16th green and 17th tee there is a big screen. Europe vice-captain Martin Kaymer stops to watch.

Justin Thomas spots there is live footage of Harris English and Tyrrell Hatton. He is transfixed after beckoning over Daniel Berger and Zach Johnson to watch.

Thomas, face contorted with nervous emotions, bites his knuckle and then nods when Harris finds the cut next to the flag.

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (17)

Tony Finau leaks his drive right and Harris English follows him out that way. Tyrrell Hatton is in nicely located in the middle of the fairway, but hooks his approach a little. He jumps up trying to spot where it's going, and the answer is into one of the bunkers down the left of the green.

Wow! Rahm, as unruffled as ever, drops in another magical putt.

Garcia tells his amigo he loves him and the pair embrace.

Members of the European support team go wild, as do a few more away fans in the hospitality.

Everyone else? Stoney faced and silent.

  10. Rahm sends Europe dormie twopublished at 23:51 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Koepka & Spieth v Rahm & Garcia 2UP (16)

Jon Rahm from 30 feet! His bunker shot on this testing hole was ordinary, his putt was anything but as he really attacked it down the hill and was only thinking about slamming it into the back of the cup at pace.

Spieth must have thought he was favourite to square the match after he got lucky with his lie down in the valley, and that's all he needed to launch yet another eye-popping recovery shot to actually set himself up for a birdie.

After watching Rahm sink his, though, Spieth couldn't respond from 11 feet and Europe are guaranteed half a point by going two up with two to play, can they see it through?

Jon Rahm is settling into the sand when the massive roar from Scheffler’s putt behind sails through the air to the 16th green.

That cascades down the fairway to the green where the home fans launch into another celebration to the annoyance of the volunteers appealing for calm.

    1UP DeChambeau & Scheffler v Fleetwood & Hovland (15)

Well now from about 18 feet out Scottie Scheffler he makes an amazing putt to put the Americans up.

This match has been nip and tuck all day ... and they edge ahead with three to go.

Sergio Garcia is in the ear of the referee for the second time again.

This time it is a discussion about Jordan Spieth’s ball.

Brooks Koepka, who had an exchange with an official this morning when Garcia also stuck in his oar, comes over too.

Can’t hear exactly what’s been said from the opposite side of the green, but seems to be some discussion about yardage and who plays first.

That's almost wonderful from Ian Poulter, Europe need a bit of his magic. The United States have the nerveless touch of Collin Morikawa, who has been sensational today. He's within five feet, Poults is within four...

    Koepka & Spieth v Rahm & Garcia 1UP (15)

Erm, it's not champagne stuff down the par five 16th, not very sociable either with Koepka off to the right in a bunker, then firing a shot off to the left into the rough.

Rahm pulls his drive into a bunker down the left then rips it over into the right rough. Spieth, meanwhile, finds the fairway with the best drive of the lot, before hooking his second miles left.

    Shambles.

The woman updating the board with the Koepka/Spieth and Rahm/Garcia score has been busy today.

Nine of the 15 holes so far have prompted change and, with this match still tensely teetering, expect more over the next three.

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (17)

Ooooh! So, so close. A couple more rotations and Tony Finau's birdie putt would've dropped, but it doesn't and that's a blessing for the Team Europe guys. Tyrrell Hatton prods in from a few feet to tie the hole and he and Shane Lowry lead by one heading to the last.

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (16)

Tyrrell Hatton has his hands on his head. That could've almost sealed it, but the birdie putt narrowly squeezes by. Shane Lowry's ball is plugged into the cliff, and he's angling for a drop. He'd have ended up in the lake trying to play that...

He chips one close, but now a nervy wait to see if Tony Finau can convert.
