  1. Lowry puts pressure onpublished at 21:36 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (10)

Shane Lowry! He doesn't wait to let Tyrrell Hatton do the work, drowning a birdie himself and then turning round and roaring at the crowd, fists flailing in the Wisconsin sky and beard chantering in delirious fashion. You love to see it.

Harris English needs to nail his birdie putt to tie the hole, and shows great composure to pop it away. A big save for the hosts.

    Koepka & Spieth v Rahm & Garcia 2UP (9)

Oh Sergio! His putt is just lacking an extra couple of inches of pace as it just tails off at the end with the energy gone from the ball it curls just away to the left.

It's a let-off for the Americans but Europe still two up.

Justin Thomas might not be playing this afternoon but he’s still loving life.

After chugging beers on the first tee earlier, he is now next to the ninth green cheering on his team-mates.

Earlier he was encouraging the home fans to make some noise, here he is not being as expressive. A light cajoling and respectful clap as they chant his name.

  4. Morikawa takes USA 2UPpublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    2UP Johnson & Morikawa v McIlroy & Poulter (7)

Ian Poulter is in the sand and going to have to have a dig at the pin. It's a wonderful touch from the Englishman, and on any other weekend he would be very happy with it, but that's no troubling the cup. Poults turns his attention to caddying for Rory McIlroy, trying to get a read of the green for his team-mate. It's a windy 40-footer, and wheels down to the left of the pin.

McIlroy pops in for par to ask the question... but Morikawa answers it! Drilled in for birdie. And the USA go two up in this match.

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (9)

Tyrrell Hatton pops his drive at 10 on the fairway but the others have all had a little dig at the green, and come up short. He flicks an approach to the edge of the smooth stuff and watches it sizzle down the bank and cosy up not too far from the pin for a solid birdie chance.

    Koepka & Spieth v Rahm & Garcia 2UP (8)

Spieth's hit a beauty into the ninth green, Koepka very much hasn't and may have found a bush miles left - maybe he can ask for a free drop out of it?

Rahm backs off his approach after hearing something from the crowd, it's obviously on his mind as he comes out of it early and sprays it wide right and into the sand.

Luckily Sergio is on the green with a birdie look.

    1UP Johnson & Morikawa v McIlroy & Poulter (6)

Collin Morikawa is cooking now. He's winning every closest to the pin competition going.

A nice birdie chance for the American at the par-three seventh from six feet or so. He's a long way clear of the rest of this fourball.

    “Vamos Jon!”

    “Vamos Sergio!”

No guesses who these Spaniards are supporting. And they are being rewarded by some excellent golf from the pair.

Rahm (2 1/2) and Garcia (2) have by far and away been Europe’s most productive players this week, leading the individual points scoring.

Can they maintain this form for another desperately-needed point?

    1UP DeChambeau & Scheffler vFleetwood & Hovland (7)

Lucky number seven? Not for Bryson De Chambeau who ends up on the rocks and then it obligingly hopped into the water for his first.

Tommy Fleetwood was also a bit wayward but saved himself a paddle in lake.

At the business end it came down to a putt-off after both Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland give their long-distance putts a solid rap and both miss their birdie chances.

Fleetwood could not make it count for a par putt, leaving it to Hovland and Scheffler and the Americans get their tail up and go one up

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (9)

That's nice from Tony Finau, who escapes brilliantly from the sand and rolls his ball to gimme range.

The Shane Lowry smile is still going strong mind, as he taps in to ensure Europe maintain their slender advantage in this match at the turn. Thus far the Irishman has pretty much kept the hosts at bay himself.

  12. Koepka pulls one backpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Koepka & Spieth v Rahm & Garcia 2UP (8)

The Americans pull a hole back as they play the eighth much better as a pair than the Europeans, with Rahm again left with a monster putt outside of 30 feet to stand a chance of a half.

He can't make it this time, but Koepka can from seven feet with a hint of break off the right and the roar may just be the loudest one of the day as they drag this back to just two down.

  13. DJ & Morikawa go one uppublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    1UP Johnson & Morikawa v McIlroy & Poulter (6)

Collin Morikawa has to wait patiently while the others go about trying to find the green.

Ian Poulter is on in two and gives himself an outside birdie chance, but it skids wide. Rory McIlroy leaves his from around 17 feet just left, but Dustin Johnson nails his!

Morikawa doesn't even need to attempt his eagle putt! The USA are one up once more.

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (8)

The hosts in a spot of bother on the ninth.

Tony Finau finds the sand with his approach and Harris English the sprays his ball wildly left.

With Shane Lowry on the dancefloor there's big chance for Tyrrell Hatton to apply some further pressure but he's up off that one early. That is miles left and a poor shot from the Englishman.

  17. Morikawa drives greenpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Johnson & Morikawa A/S McIlroy & Poulter (5)

From birdie putts to shanking drives, the beaut of matchplay, and luckily for Ian Poulter his team-mate Rory McIlroy gets a decent break after leaking his drive off target too.

It might all be in vain... Collin Morikawa has just driven the green, an absolute monster to within 12 feet of the flag at the 330-yard sixth. That is a shot.

  18. Birdies all round to stay all squarepublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    DeChambeau & Scheffler A/S Fleetwood & Hovland (6)

Viktor Hovland is out to tie the sixth hole after Scottie Scheffler makes a fabuous birdie putt - and Hovland nails it.

What a fabulous Ryder Cup this rookie is having - out in every match as fresh as a daisy, and everyone wants to play with him because of his positive energy.

Could he be the one to make the difference in this match? He keeps it all square.

  19. Rahm gives us hope.published at 20:59 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

Rahm and Garcia are playing like Ballesteros and Olazabal back in the day.

Holes the 20-footer down the hill.

That's why he's world number one. He's given us hope.

  20. Rahm sends Europe 3UPpublished at 20:58 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Koepka & Spieth v Rahm & Garcia 3UP (7)

It's all happening on the seventh! Firstly, Koepka rattles the hole from 60 feet with his birdie putt, which was moving far too quickly to ever have a chance of dropping.

Jon Rahm shows him how it's done though as the world number one yet again produces some magic, this time from 26 feet just sliding down the slope and played to perfection.

Jordan Spieth is only seven feet away though so can match that, right? Wrong! Spieth misses again as America slip three down here. Huge move from Rahm.
