    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (6)

Birdie machine. Shane Lowry knocks in from six feet, which is pretty significant given moments before that Harris English managed to miss his eagle putt left.

Before he's asked to putt again Tony Finau slots his putt to save a hole that looked like it was going to turn red.

  2. Tension mountingpublished at 20:15 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Keopka & Spieth v Rahm & Garcia 2UP (4)

It's all getting a bit niggly out there now - with Jordan Spieth and Jon Rahm's caddie having a few, shall we say, words, about where Rahm's ball crossed the hazard line and into the water.

The tension seems to be mounting all over the course.

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (5)

Shot. Harris English hits a zinger off the tee on six to 11 feet of the flag.

This is a par four right? Yep, 330 yards.

The crowd are going wild at the and suddenly the positive vibes in this match seem to be heading towards the hosts.

Tyrrell Hatton and Shane Lowry both find the bunkers either side of English's ball, with his team-mate Tony Finau. Can English draw his side level? Eagle putt incoming.

    DeChambeau & Scheffler v Fleetwood & Hovland 1UP (4)

On the par four fourth hole.

Tommy Fleetwood just misjudged his chance to win the hole, leaving it to Bryson DeChambeau to tie things up

He drains that putt from about 15 feet out - and the crowd goes (predictably) wild.

Europe keep their narrow lead but Fleetwood looks a little disapoointed that this was a chance that went begging.

Jon Rahm hates this fifth hole.

Three out of the four times he has played this hole - he's gone into the water, although that's the first time he has gone in with his driver.

  6. Morikawa misses chance to extend leadpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    1UP Johnson & Morikawa v McIlroy & Poulter (3)

DJ, Poults and Rory can't sink their birdie putts and it comes down to Collin Morikawa to win the hole - 11 feet out, the Open champ, he wriggles it pin-bound but can't quite meet the target.

The American stares at the turf in disbelief! The hosts remain one up in this match.

  7. Rahm revved up!published at 20:07 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    Koepka & Spieth A/S Rahm & Garcia 2UP (4)

Get in there Jon Rahm! We had a bit of scoreboard confusion when Rahm won the third - there is no doubt about him winning the fourth as he nails a massive putt from all of 44 feet that breaks one way then the other and goes up and over a ridge and down the other side.

Basically, it has every single change of direction and elevation you can imagine, but the world's best player is on a roll now and he walks the last couple of feet in to send Europe 2UP in this one.

Could Europe finally start making something happen?

  8. Get Involved - First tee beers?published at 20:07 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger downed beers thrown to them from the crowd on the first tee - they're obviously not playing this afternoon.

So, just a bit of fun or not a good look for Team USA?

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (5)

A tad tentative but then you don't want to go flying past. Tyrrell Hatton nudges a potential hole-winning put down to a foot.

But Tony Finau, whose putter was red hot on Friday for the US, makes a seven footer to halve the hole.

    1UP Johnson & Morikawa v McIlroy & Poulter (2)

On to the par-three third for this final fourball. Stick it close and attack for birdie...

Collin Morikawa nudges it closest, to around 11 feet, while Dustin Johnson is double that distance and Ian Poulter has a mammoth birdie putt to come. Rory McIlroy goes last and lofts his tee shot high into the breeze drifting off Lake Michigan, but seems to like his attempt...

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (4)

The par-five fifth is an absolute monster of a hole at 603 yards. Unless you are Bryson DeChambeau of course.

And things aren't helped when there's very little wind assistance and it is just blowing balls all over the show.

Shane Lowry tries to manipulate conditions in his favour on his approach and lands his ball in the centre of the putting surface before it skips back 15 feet or so.

Not really what he was looking for. Tyrrell Hatton may have his back here mind with his third just inside both American balls some 27 feet from the hole.

    Hogan knows best, right?

This Hulk reckons there isn't a chance of Europe fighting back.

"The Americans are running wild, brother," he says.

It was a nice firm stroke from Viktor Hovland - nice firm rap and where Europe were missing these - it's about time one of these go in.

  15. Europe go uppublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    DeChambeau & Scheffler v Fleetwood & Hovland 1UP (3)

Bryson De Chambeau's birdie putt picks up pace and it whizzes well wide of the hole and to the edge of the putting surface. he won't be laying down his stick for that one.

Scottie Scheffler's third shot from below the green raises cheers and then a groan from the crowd as it shaves the edge of the hole and runs on.

It comes down to Viktor Hovland to win the hole maybe about 12 feet and in it goes!

    Europe go one up.

  16. Johnson & Morikawa leadpublished at 19:51 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

    1UP Johnson & Morikawa v McIlroy & Poulter (2)

DJ sinks into a little half squat as his eagle putt squeezes by at the second.

Over to Rory McIlroy, to tie the hole from around six feet. Oh, so close! The Northern Irishman flirts with the edge of the cup but his ball lips out and stays up.

    The Americans lead.

    DeChambeau & Scheffler A/S Fleetwood & Hovland (2)

    Onto the par three third.

Scottie Scheffler drives safely on the green.

Tommy Fleetwood also found the green but rolled back into the bunker at the back of the green.

Bryson DeChambeau grips at the front of the green, and it is down to Viktor Hovland who hits beautifully and lands around 10 feet away from the pin.

    Johnson & Morikawa A/S McIlroy & Poulter (1)

Poults is in the sand after missing the fairway and he won't reach the green from there. Might need some help from Rory McIlroy on this one... the Northern Irishman catches the edge of the green but it trickles over to the right a touch. Dustin Johnson meanwhile is eyeing an eagle...

Dechambeau on the second - not sure if there was a shout as it bounces into the crowd - again. They scamper about and gleefully gather where his missle landed.

Scottie Scheffler's second shot finds the green, but Viktor Hovalnd's approach is better. which lies within about four-five foot birdie putt.

Birdies fly in for Scheffler and Hovland and it is another hole halved.

    Finau & English v Lowry & Hatton 1UP (4)

How about that .Tyrrell Hatton almost holes out from the bunker. Great shot but in the context of this hole not particularly relevant with Shane Lowry doing more of the heavy lifting so far.

Lowry judges a 40-foot putt superbly well to bring it within inches of the cup for par.

Harris English has two putts to win the hole from downtown but makes a hash of his first up the slope. He's left that six feet short and slides the crucial putt past on the left.

A look of frustration from the American as the blue dash next to this match remains on the leaderboard.
