  1. Johnson going for a perfect fivepublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Johnson A/S Casey (1)

Solid start for Paul Casey taking on USA's star man Dustin Johnson, who has won four out of four so far in this Ryder Cup.

With a win over Casey, Johnson can join Larry Nelson and GFrancesco Molinari as the only players to go 5-0-0 in a single Ryder Cup since it became USA v Europe in 1979.

Tucked behind the first tee grandstand is the practice putting green. Tony Finau and Ian Poulter go through their paces seconds before walking on a bridge across the ravine to the first tee.

About 20 seconds of tranquility to collect their thoughts before stepping out into the fervency.

This match, with these two characters, is going to be fun!

  3. Garcia pulls one backpublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    1UP DeChambeau v Garcia (3)

    That's better from Sergio!

Lovely tee shot and he tickles in a birdie putt to claw the hole away from Bryson DeChambeau and reduce the deficit in this match to just one.

    Back in the game.

  4. Superb scrambling from McIlroypublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Schauffele v McIlroy 2UP (5)

Big par save from Rory McIlroy on the fifth. Look at that fist pump he enjoyed that.

A brilliant iron into 15 feet and then drains the sort of putt that has been sadly absent for Europe so far. All after two pretty awful shots and a drop.

Not sure Xander Schauffele can quite believe that. He looks stunned to have halved the hole.

  5. Scheffler flying against Rahmpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    4UP Scheffler v Rahm (4)

Nice approach from Jon Rahm at four, flicking one into the middle of the green. It's not so much he's started poorly, just Scottie Scheffler has been on fire.

The Spaniard has a birdie putt from 20 feet... and it drifts narrowly wide! Huge chance for Scheffler to nab another hole, and he does. Cruising at the moment.

    Koepka v Wiesberger (18:10 BST)

After a solid start on the Saturday foursomes, leading Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, the rookie team of Bernd Wiesberger with Viktor Hovland went off the pace at the end, and the Austrian is still in search of his first point.

Brooks Koepka has won one but lost two rounds this time out - and so might feel a little bit of pressure if Wiesberger, way down the order, just treats this as a free hit.

  7. Cantlay moves aheadpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Cantlay A/S Lowry (4)

Patrick Cantlay takes advantage of a bogey from Shane Lowry on the fourth to edge ahead.

Dash of red dully added to the scoreboard.

  9. DeChambeau goes 2UPpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    2UP DeChambeau v Garcia (2)

Bryson DeChambeau recovers from that wayward drive to snag another hole from Sergio Garcia, who can't make his own recovery from the sand count. The US go two up in this one.

"Rory Rory Hallelujah, Rory Rory Hallelujah...

"Rory Rory Hallelujah, Eur-ope goes marching on!"

The Europeans on the first tee are making themselves heard, giving this one a spin after seeing McIlroy is still putting blue on the board.

Not heard too many renditions of that this week with the Northern Irishman struggling.

So far he's showing the faith put into him by Captain Harrington.

    * This was seconds before he went dunking on the fifth.

    Schauffele v McIlroy 2UP (4)

Oh Rory, how've you managed that?

Rory McIlroy pays the price for a poor tee shot that skirted with the water on the right before resting in a tall fescue. It's just a case of taking your medicine there surely and pitching back on to the fairway.

Apparently not. McIlroy makes a poor connection trying to lump his ball forward and it squirts left into the drink.

Big chance for Xander Schauffele to gain some momentum in this match.

Three birdies to start for Scottie Scheffler - dream start and Jon Rahm is up against it here,

Who saw that coming against the world number one?

  14. Scheffler stretches further aheadpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    3UP Scheffler v Rahm (3)

That's gone slightly left off the tee box from Jon Rahm, hooking towards the shoreline but eventually keeping its flight and coming to a halt on the back of the green.

His birdie putt wriggles off target too.

Scottie Scheffler is on the dancefloor and looking to go three up from around 12 feet - and he has popped in another! The American's putter is scorching right now.

  15. Fast start from Viktorpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Morikawa v Hovland 1UP (1)

Now, if anyone deserves a singles win it's Viktor Hovland, although he'll be up against it playing Collin Morikawa today.

It's a nice start though with a goos solid second shot putting the pressure on with Morikawa in the bunker-laden rough down the left, and the American can't get down in two so concedes the hole.

  16. Postpublished at 18:01 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    1UP DeChambeau v Garcia (1)

After driving the green with a monster effort on the first, Bryson DeChambeau finds a cart path down the right of the second. Sergio Garcia is on the fairway but pops his approach in the sand, and both have work to do.

  17. McIlroy extends his leadpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Schauffele v McIlroy 2UP (4)

Solid stuff from Rory McIlroy who edges further ahead with a par thanks largely to Xander Schauffele's wayward tee shot and subsequent foray into the sand.

The American can't get up and down in two and McIlroy doubles his lead.

Yesterday Paul Casey was stood singing with the group of European fans dressed as old-school caddies on the first tee.

Today he is walking out in front of them. Massive reception for the veteran Englishman as the lads sing his name to the tune of the 'Kolo & Yaya Toure/2Unlimited' chant.

Casey flashes them a toothy grin and nods along to encourage them more.

  20. Cantlay gets back on termspublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Cantlay A/S Lowry (2)

Patrick Cantlay is back on terms at the third after nailing his tee shot to 10 feet or so.

Shane Lowry got that all wrong, drifting left to the banking. Decent enough chip back on to four feet for the 2019 Open champ but Cantlay holds his nerve to sink his birdie putt.
