Jacksonville native Cam Smith is being cheered every step of the way down 17.

He’s all smiles as he’s chatting with Casey while they wait for Burns to chip from the drop zone.

Smith’s shot to four feet is the second closest of the day on 17, beaten only by Sergio Garcia’s knock to two feet.

Paul Casey plays to the centre of the green. He resists the temptation to try and follow Smith's outrageous tee shot, which may go some way to deciding the outcome.

So, down the chute between fans and water to the 17th. Two behind, two to play. Remember, Paul Casey holed birdie putts of 53 and 35 feet on the 17th in rounds two and three.

Paul Casey looks frazzled after the 16th hole. If it had been his own pitch mark he could have taken relief, but because it wasn't he couldn't.

And suddenly, after the relative peace of the back nine, we’re into the theatre of the 16th green with the 17th to our right.

Most of the fans at Sawgrass are on the hills surrounding both greens.

I can tell you Kara that Anirban Lahiri played a ridiculous shot out of the left green-side bunker on the 15th to help him save par and stay right in this.

Kara: If Lahiri can win this, he will be superstar overnight in India, he may still be if he hangs on to the top three.

Cam Smith's drive is deep in the woods to the left of the 16th.

He’s only gone about 200 yards from the tee and there are about a dozen trees between him and the fairway.

He’s got to thread this through the proverbial eye of the needle. Casey is down the middle.

Elsewhere on the course Dustin Johnson is home with final-round 63, tying the record for the lowest 18-hole score at the Players Championship.

DJ's score is the ninth 63 in tournament history and the first since Brooks Koepka in the final round in 2018.
