  1. Scheffler in with a sniff?published at 23:18 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Scheffler -7, Rose -1 (F)

It's not completely done yet, Scottie Scheffler is keeping Brooks Koepka honest.

He rolls in an absolute clutch putt on 18, must have been 16 feet, if not more. That puts the world number two in second place and with the clubhouse lead after a wonderful final round of 65.

He needs a collapse from Koepka to force a play-off though.

Justin Rose signs for a one-over 71 - disappointing day for him as his charge never materialised.

  2. Wide rightpublished at 23:17 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Koepka -10, Hovland -6 (16)

Hovland hits a good nice but it just skips off the fairway and dives down deep into the rough - he tries to chase one onto the green but he's in more thick stuff around the green.

Koepka has gone wide right, very wide right, but he's lucky there's no hazards out there and he's avoided the trees, so he just plays safe and chips it back out onto the fairway.

A four-shot lead means nothing silly here.

  3. Block needs a photopublished at 23:16 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Block +1 (71)

Wonderful scenes in the scorer's hut. Rory McIlroy and Michael Block are cross-checking the scores, Michael presumably making sure Rory noticed that he had a one on 15...

And as they are about to leave, Michael calls over a mate and tells him to take a quick snap of him and Rory. Arm-in-arm. Rory beaming.

Michael's just as big a fan as the rest of us.

  4. Koepka takes controlpublished at 23:10 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Koepka -10, Hovland -6 (16)

It's a double for Hovland, who still looks stunned, as we all are at what's happened twice in 24 hours in that same bunker.

And with Hovland down, Koepka may well have landed the knockout blow as he rolls in his short birdie putt for a three-shot swing on the 16th.

The lead is four with two holes left to play.

  5. See you at Valhalla Michael!published at 23:10 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    McIlroy -2 (69), Block +1 (71)

Soak it in Michael Block. SOAK. IT. IN.

Extraordinary scenes. A roar to greet a champion rings out as his ball - which is imprinted with the words 'WHY NOT' wipes its feet and drops in for a par and a round of 71. Not quite the 70 he had forecast but I'm sure he's not too bothered by that.

He even has the power to calm the boisterous New Yorkers while Rory McIlroy taps in for a par and a 69 that featured five birdies.

The volume goes up a few more notches. Rory gives his playing partner a huge hug and it's smiles all round. These post-round interviews could be fun.

  6. Deciding moment?published at 23:06 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Koepka -9, Hovland -8 (15)

Hovland has to just dig his third shot down the fairway, before hitting a wedge onto the green abut 15 feet away to at least have a look at a bogey.

Meanwhile, after a long wait Koepka steps up and sticks his approach to about three feet and what looks a certain birdie in what could be a huge moment in this tournament.

  7. Postpublished at 23:05 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Scheffler -6, Rose -1 (16)

No miracle putt for Scottie Scheffler at the 17th as the 40-odd footer across the face of the green stays right.

    McIlroy -2, Block +1 (17)

Michael Block needs a par to guarantee his return for the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla next May.

He's got dozens of cameras trained on him as he gouges one final wedge out of this penal rough. The ball bounces in the fringe and sidles up to within eight feet.

He gets a big thumbs up from Rory McIlroy, who will have a 40-footer to finish his championship on a high

  9. Michael from the Blockpublished at 23:00 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Block +1 (17)

It would appear as though there are plenty of Jennifer Lopez fans reading this page (see 22:40 entry). There's still time for me to hit the fire button.

Michael Block is being given the reception of his life as he walks down the 18th. He's loving it so much he wants to get right there into the fans and swipes his second from the rough down the right, all the way across to the rough on the left.

There are thousands of New Yorkers round this green and they have taken the Californian to their hearts.

  10. Disaster for Hovland!published at 22:57 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Koepka -9, Hovland -8 (15)

What have we seen here!? Corey Conners did the exact same thing yesterday in this bunker on the 16th, as Hovland smacks his attempt low and hard into the face of the trap and the ball buries itself in the wall.

He'll get a free drop but the look on his face tells you this could be a massive blow.

  11. Postpublished at 22:57 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Scheffler -6, Rose -1 (16)

    So tough, 17 and 18.

Scottie Scheffler has split the 17th fairway with a cracking 310-yard tee shot but even then the seven iron into the green isn't easy.

He's on there comfortably but the wrong side of the green - it's a 40-50 foot birdie putt.

  12. Postpublished at 22:54 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    McIlroy -2 (17)

We're not seeing too much of Rory McIlroy. The world number three is playing second fiddle to the club pro from California.

For the record, it's a regulation par on 17 for Rors.

  13. It happens to everybody - Rahmpublished at 22:53 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Rahm +7 (71)

    Jon RahmImage source, Getty Images

World number Jon Rahm has taken a fairly philosophical view of his struggles around Oak Hill after finishing at seven over.

"It's golf - when you think, 'Oh, I got this', it kicks you in the mouth and you have to start over again," he said. "It happens to everybody."

The Masters champion battled the weather, his form and his emotions over the four days but an opening round of 76 killed any hopes of the title.

"It wasn't my best week, but I don't think it was terrible either," he said. " It kind of reminds me of how I did at the Arnold Palmer (joint 39th and the worst result of his season so far).

"Obviously, this is a terribly difficult set-up and exposes a lot of your weaknesses.

"Some other tournaments we play throughout the year I think I could have snuck out a really good finish. Just not out here."

  14. Postpublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Block +1 (16)

Now now Mr Block, let's keep that game head on. Two holes to play. Another drive that rumbles into the rough and he can't reach the green with his second.

He has 100 yards left for his third. And that is some shot. Piles it in to six feet. And then holes the putt to huge cheers.

He rocks back on his heels to try and take it all in. Fabulous scenes.

  15. Leaderboard updatepublished at 22:49 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    -9 Koepka

    -8 Hovland

    -6 Scheffler

It's one of these three now, folks - next best is three under.

  16. Authenticity to Koepka nowpublished at 22:47 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Koepka -9, Hovland -8 (15)

    Zane Scotland
Former European Tour player on BBC Radio 5 Live

Viktor keeps asking the question of Brooks Koepka - but Koepka has the answer every single time so far.

There is a bit of authenticity to Koepka now. He knows when he can be defiant but he's been quite open about what went wrong which tells us he's really gone and thought about this scenario.

  17. Two pars - three holes to gopublished at 22:47 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Koepka -9, Hovland -8 (15)

Again it's excellent speed control from Koepka on the long range putt from 30 feet, especially as the second half of it is falling down the slope to his left. Another tap-in par.

Hovland follows from a similar distance and with a similar outcome, never really threatening to go in. As you were heading into the final three holes.

  18. Scheffler stays six underpublished at 22:47 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Scheffler -6, Rose -2 (16)

Scottie Scheffler shakes his head as his 25-30 footer starts left and stays left.

No birdie here at 16 for the world number two.

He'll have two chances left to pile the pressure on the top two - but 17 and 18 have hardly been birdie paradise this week...

  19. Postpublished at 22:42 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Scheffler -6, Rose -2 (15)

Scottie Scheffler has gotten wind of those birdies for the top two.

He grimaces as his wedge into the 16th green falls probably 20 feet shy of where he'd have wanted it.

Pars probably won't do from here.

Andrew: Michael Block!! What a week he is having! What position does he need to finish to get invites to the rest of the majors?

Credit where credit is due for Rory McIlroy on this PGA Championship performance. His head, by his own admission, wasn’t in the right place, yet he has battled for 4 days and somehow dragged himself into contention on the back-9 on Sunday.

Top 15 today gets him an invite back to this championship in 2024 and I'm pretty sure he needs to win to get a US Open or Open Championshp spot. He's got regional qualifying, with his son, coming up soon for the US Open.
