When I saw Davey Todd and Glenn Irwin going off I knew it would take a lot from them to come back. I just stayed smooth until the end though I did think someone was going to overtake me. Twenty-seven now isn't it? Lovely. People keep asking me how many I want to win but I don't know, my race number [34] would be nice to get to.

    Alastair Seeley, Superstocks winner

Dean Harrison narrowed the gap on Lee Johnston but not enough as the Fermanagh man holds on to second.

  3. Alastair Seeley wins Superstockspublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

Absolutely imperious stuff from Alastair Seeley, now a 27-time winner at the North West 200.

    An absurdly good record.

  6. 'Johnston not out of it just yet'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Quote Message

It must be such an incredible feeling for the likes of Harrison and Todd when they can use the slipstream. Seeley ahead but Lee Johnston is not out of this just yet, though there is still quite a bit of ground for him to make up.

Harrison has shaken off the problems faced at University and had eventually got his man with Todd slipping out of the podium places.

So going into the last lap our top three seem fairly well set. Seeley in first with a four second lead over Lee Johnston, who is seven seconds in front of Harrison.

And just like the biggest Hollywood blockbusters, there's another twist as Todd drops back.

That was some charge and it looks like he has overworked his tyres in the hot conditions.

Dean Harrison catches up with Davey Todd at Station Corner but right back comes Todd.

Once again, University proves to be the decisive part of the course as this time Harrison can't find the turn allowing Todd to streak away.

Well after all that, it needs said that the man who led from the flag remains in the lead. Alastair Seeley could be about to take his 27th race win.

Michael Dunlop looks to have a problem with his rear wheel, is there oil there or something? Whatever has happened he's firmly out of contention now.

I need Davey Todd's onboard to be given a premiere at the Jet Centre in Coleraine.

In a ditch, down to 11th and he's now going after Seeley for the lead!

Put it on the big screen! What a ride!

Michael Dunlop is holding onto third but Lee Johnston is right there with him, and eventually goes past him with the help of a slipstream.

And then, after all the hope of an almighty comeback, Davey Todd looks to have a problem.

He's falling right back and all of a sudden Johnston gets beyond him.

  13. 'Enough time for Todd to bridge gap'published at 14:26 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Quote Message

Davey Todd really is having a great North West and if anyone is going to reel in Alastair Seeley it is him. He is three of four seconds behind but there is still enough time for him to bridge that gap.

  14. Postpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

Davey Todd is absolutely steaming up the field.

He was FOUR seconds quicker than race leader Alastair Seeley on the last lap.

Surely he won't come all the way back after what happened on lap one?

  15. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

Dodgy stomach? In a ditch on lap one?

No bother to Davey Todd. What a day he is having so far.

Davey Todd was in a ditch at University and is back in the podium places. He's been superb today!

  17. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

What on earth is going on at University?!

We've had so many racers unable to make the turn and forced onto the slip road, and the latest is Michael Dunlop.

It's a sickener as it somewhat stifles what had been an excellent battle with Alastair Seeley, who is now firmly in control of this race.

Can Dunlop make that lost time back up?

  18. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

An almighty slipstream sees Michael Dunlop go into first in the run-up to Magheraboy.

Seeley comes right back at him through Juniper though and retakes the lead. We've had some sensational battles already today and we're getting another one.

Alastair Seeley leading the charge but he is not having it all his own way by any means. Michael Dunlop is the one who is taking it to him and there is quite a gap now between those two and the rest.

  20. Postpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

Still early days but it looks like we might have another two-bike race up at the top with Seeley and Dunlop battling it out at the top.

Lee Johnston gets his turn wrong and loses a couple of places further down the pack.
