Tremendous battle between Jeremy McWilliams and Lee Johnston for fourth. As noted earlier, Johnston is struggling outside of the slipstream, but he's keeping enough control to stay firmly in the hunt.
Jamie Coward joins the party and it's a fascinating three-way tussle as they approach Metropole.

Michael Dunlop and Adam McLean are out of the race.
Bian looks like he might have the best pace in the battle for second but Richard Cooper is now over eight seconds in front and extremely well placed for what would be a first victory on the Triangle circuit.

Richard Cooper is away here - what a start!
This is a great battle for second some distance behind with Johnston, Bian and Jordan right in the mix.
Cooper's comfortably out in front in what is only his second North West 200.
Lee Johnston seems to be struggling for power in behind as he jostles with Pierre Yves Bian and Paul Jordan for second about five second behind the leader.
Oh no, a nightmare for Michael Dunlop on lap one as he misses his breaking point and is forced to go up the sliproad at University. He's still on the bike but firmly out of contention as far as a race victory is concerned.
Richard Cooper looking good along the coast road, a really nice start for the pole sitter.

Joe Loughlin pulled off the grid just in front of us. That's one contender down already.
Racing is underway! Richard Cooper gets away well at the front.

And the bikes are off for their warm-up lap.
It's bad news for Raul Fernandez who has encountered some mechanical difficulties and is struggling to get off the line but everyone else looks to have got away rightly.

Well, here we go folks!
The Supertwins are first up and your guess is as good as mine about who will come out on top.
Richard Cooper starts from pole and will be one of the favourites but there's a talented gaggle behind him, including Pierre Yves Bian, Paul Jordan , Joe Loughlin and, of course, Jeremy McWilliams.
The Twins can often throw up a surprise result or two (you just have to look at Stefano Bonetti's 2019 victory) so let's see what today has in store.

My word, we've missed this feeling.
Engines ticking over on the grid, that the pre-race buzz - it's good to be back!
Quote MessageThe race got cancelled on Thursday and my opinion that was a good decision. It's not going to be easy, slipstream is a massive thing on these bikes and I've done all the work on my own this weekend so far so it will be interesting to see how the bike works with other bikes around me. I'm looking forward to it, I just want to get going - these are nervous times for all of us.
Richard Cooper, Pole position for Supertwins
Alright then folks, we're about to go racing.
We begin with the four-lap Supertwin race that didn't get going on Thursday, so there'll be two races in this class today.
The main day of the 2022 North West 200 is about to begin.
Quote MessageThis is the first time in years that we've had to queue at 07:30 on the Coast Rd. It's just amazing.

It's amazing what a bit of sun does to cheer everybody up.
Taking a walk around the paddock this morning there was a great buzz in the air, with plenty of fans milling about the various garages and awnings as the bikes warm up before they make their way to the grid.
The rain rather spoiled the party on Thursday, but with the sun shining and the birds singing, there's a real feeling that the North West 200 is back!
Jim with the time to beat so far today.
