They are Olympic medalists and quite right too.

It's 98.04 from the US! A huge score. 450 is the target they set for Great Britain, who have 363. 87 marks needed. Italy, then GB....

Finally, Mexico sling their hook. USA up next, pulling out something sensational. They were third. How does that affect GB?

What is going on here?

All sorts of confusion here. Mexico got told they could have a redive, so they climbed the stairs. When they got there, they got told to come back down. Now there's all sorts of complaining going on. Frankly, this is merely delaying the business end...

Where are with the diving? Great Britain, who have never won an Olympic gold medal in diving, are three points ahead of China and 11 ahead of the United States. They are miles in front of fourth-placed Germany. They will get a medal, but what colour?

Germany are rattling up something of a cricket score in Brazil... where have we heard that before...?

Fortunately for the Olympics hosts, it's not their side that is getting a hefty beating, instead it is Fiji, who are losing 6-0 at half-time in their final Group C match. Arsenal's Serge Gnarby has bagged a brace, taking his tournament total to five goals. On fire.

With one dive to go, Chris Mears and Jack Laugher are in gold medal position.

The Chinese, who are still to go in this fifth round, have been leading throughout. Britain take top spot. The Chinese will need nines across the board...
