    Gymnastics: Men's all-around final

Two events down, four to go in the men's individual all-around final - and Britain are looking good for a medal, well, so far.

Great Britain's Max Whitlock was top after the first rotation (the pommel horse) and followed that with a score of 14.733 on the rings. However, a bit of a wobble on the dismount loses some points off his score.

He drops down to second, with Japan's Kohei Uchimura moving to the front. Another Brit, Nile Wilson, has dropped down to equal 18th after a score of 14.066 on the pommel horse,

Top marks to the Japanese pair in the crowd who have come in fancy dress. One is wearing a karate outfit, the other an all-White onesie with a red spot on the belly to resemble the national flag.

They'll be pleased with what they're seeing from their gymnasts, too. Defending champion Uchimura began with an impressive floor routine which impressed Beth Tweddle in the commentary box.

So good. So good. That was their bogey dive. That was the one. If they got it, they put pressure on the others and that was excellent from our boys. They nailed the execution.

Sensational! Jack Laugher and Chris Mears are on fire. The British pair nail their fourth dive - an inward 3½ somersaults effort - and they head to the hot tub in first place.

Can the Chinese reclaim top spot? No! GB have never won an Olympic diving gold medal. Just saying...

And it's not over for GB! Chris Mears and Jack Laugher are still in medal position in the men's 3m synchro diving. We are four dives into a competition where each pair dives six times.

Jack Laugher does a little body-pop as he struts out of the pool alongside team-mate Chris Mears. Careful Jack, don't slip. That could ruin your medal chance.

Great Britain are right in the mixer here, nailing a 84.66 dive in round three. A forward 2½ somersault two twist dive for those in the know.

In fact... they lead at the halfway stage! The usually-reliable China can't overtake them with their third effort.
