"I'll be hungover tomorrow," warned Sir Bradley Wiggins last night.

We would be too if we'd just become the first Briton to win eight Olympic medals

Wiggins, 36, combined with Ed Clancy, Owain Doull and Steven Burke to win the team pursuit in a new world record time.

The Paul Weller wannabe now has five golds, one silver and two bronzes to surpass fellow cyclist Sir Chris Hoy's tally of seven.

The facility just happens to be the training centre of one Jessica Ennis-Hill, reigning Olympic heptathlon champion.

If the drama of Phelps and Ledecky wasn't enough, how about Anthony Ervin's story?

The American capped a remarkable turnaround to become the oldest ever Olympic swimming champion at the age of 35 with victory in the 50m freestyle on Friday.

Ervin won joint gold in the same event in 2000 when he was 19 years old but quit the sport aged just 23.

He then attempted suicide, worked in a tattoo parlour, played in a rock band and sold his gold medal for $17,000 to donate the money to Tsunami victims.

"It's surreal, kind of absurd," said Ervin.

    Understatement.

"I say this a lot, but every single day I'm living a dream come true. As a kid I wanted to do something that no one had ever done before and I'm enjoying it."

American swimmer Michael Phelps may have gone a night at the pool without a win but I think it's fair to say it's mission accomplished from the 22-time gold medal winner.

Something weird happened in the pool on day seven.

No, the water didn't go a funny colour. Michael Phelps didn't win a gold.

The American was beaten to the 100m butterfly title by 21-year-old Joseph Schooling from Singapore.

It was nation's first ever Olympic gold medal and he won it in a record time of 50.39 seconds.

Afterwards 22-time gold medallist Phelps, who was in a three-way tie for silver, confirmed Rio would be his last Olympics.

Sure, we've heard that one before.

American Katie Ledecky is simply unstoppable.

The 19-year-old won her fourth gold in the women's 800m freestyle last night and she smashed her own world record to finish eight seconds ahead of Britain's Jazz Carlin in second place.

At one point, Ledecky had disappeared out of the camera's shot as the rest of the field went for the last turn. Quite incredible viewing.

It was a second silver medal of the Games for Carlin, who was actually late for the race because her bus went to the Olympic Park instead of the pool. Ooops.

So we want you to tell us where you were and what you were doing when Jessica Ennis, Greg Rutherford and Mo Farah gave us that incredible moment in sporting history four years ago.

Me? I was watching the boxing in Greenwich, so had no idea what was going on elsewhere in the capital.

Send us your memories and pictures via Twitter on #bbcrio2016 and on BBC Sport's Facebook page.
