Geraint Thomas looks uninjured - just more irritated.

Looks like a touch of the wheels. Not quite sure who caused it. Just a swerve.

These are often the dangerous moments when people are relaxed. It starts to speed, you've got yourself to the front, then it looks like it's calmed down and then something like this happens - a silly little crash.

It is almost identical to the crash he had in the Tour de France. No pressure on at all, everybody widely spaced and then something happens when it's least expected.

It's going to be some chase as well...

    Men's road race

    Chris Boardman
Olympic cycling champion on BBC TV

You get the feeling now that teams are starting to get a little bit uncomfortable about this gap - but nobody wants to do the chasing.

There is such limit resource in terms of troops to use at this stage of the race, there is no strategic value, other than to control the breakaway. Nobody wants to commit resources in bringing it under control.

They are starting to feel uncomfortable but equally don't want to think about it.

Namibia's Tristan De Lange has set off from the peloton in a bid to join that leading group, with the race having just passed the 60km mark in the foothills of Mount Fuji.
