    Men's 100m breaststroke final

Just waking up? Where have you been? It's all been happening.

Adam Peaty dedicated his historic gold medal to his family, as well as his friends and teammates.

He was asked if he had spoken yet to his young son George, who is back at home.

"I haven't rung him yet. He's probably somewhere with his two teeth I guess," Peaty said.

"I hope he was watching. Mel said coming into these Games that it doesn't matter what happens - these moments are immortal. I'll take these moments for the rest of my life, and George will look at these and go, 'how did I do that'?"

Adam Peaty has been back in front of the camera, talking to Sharron Davies

"Pride. It's just an immense relief as well. When I was training at home, literally in my own pool, and in my own garage, on my own, I just can't think of the amount of emotion it has [taken] to get here.

"I got back there, hugged Mel and started crying. Because that's how much it's cost. There is a cost to everything.

"I saw a few GB flags in the crowd and that's all I needed. All I need to see is one flag, and I did it for them.

I know back home they're going mental in Uttoxeter and where I live now and hopefully that's given enough to the country and to say: 'Look, we've gone through a lot, but we can come out of it on the other side.'

How relieved are you that the games happened?

"So relieved. If it was delayed another one, I don't know. Especially with George now, I obviously want to get on with my life but again there is a cost to everything. Being a father, all that emotional energy - I just can't think straight of how much I've done it for them.

"I can look him in the eye and say all that time I had to go training and leave him, and all that time I had to leave her in difficult situations, it's all been worth it, and you know I love them so much."

Ward finds the netpublished at 04:57 British Summer Time 26 July 2021

    Great Britain 2-0 Canada

Sam Ward has looked razor sharp today and he ruthlessly slams Great Britain into a two-goal advantage from a penalty corner.

Ward - who scored in Great Britain's opening win in Tokyo - is teed up and lashes into the bottom corner.

If you've not followed Ward's story, some 19 months ago he thought his career was over because of an awful eye injury.

Some 18 minutes or so of play remains but GB are heading for two wins from two.
