    Men's RS:X windsurfing

It's been a good day for Team GB windsurfer Tom Squires, who has soared up the standings from 14th to seventh on day three in Japan.

He followed up his second-placed finish in Monday's first race with 11th and fourth in the following two.

Squires will need to continue that improvement to move into medal contention, however, with a bit of a points gap developing between the top four and the rest of the field.

As we mentioned a little earlier, Britain's Emma Wilson is in early contention for a medal in the women's RS:X windsurfing.

Windsurfing runs in the Wilson family. Her mum, Penny (nee Way), is a former world champion and two-time Olympian in the sport.

Penny used to put Emma and her older brother Dan in a rubber dinghy and tow them behind her, and now her daughter is an Olympian too!

I spoke to them both back in 2019 - check out their story.

Tom Daley, on partner Matty Lee's Olympic debut gold: "I'm just so proud of you holding that together. I felt I was going to crumble at lots of points in that competition.

"Matty was just in the zone. I've said to Matty all day today, everything's fallen into place and we found that sense of flow. We didn't say all that much to each other. We just knew what we had to do to get the job done."

  14. 'I'll see how my body holds up'published at 09:35 British Summer Time 26 July 2021

More from Tom Daley, asked about saying he would quit once he won a gold medal: "I'm definitely going to do the individual competition and then I'll see how my body holds up. They might even introduce Mixed into the Olympics so you'll see me in that."

Nick Hope caught up with Olympic gold diving champion Tom Daley.

"To finally have this gold medal around my neck after so many years!

"I've been diving now for 20 years, it's my fourth Olympic games and lots of people probably would have counted me out of this Olympics being the older person. But I'm in the best shape both physically and mentally and with the support of Matty coming into this competition.

"We've had an unstoppable mentality this year and that's the first time I've ever been able to think like that - that we are the ones to come and beat! I still honestly can't believe what's happening.

    "I was gone, I couldn't even sing - I was blubbering!"

Great Britain's third gold medal winner, Thomas Pidcock, is the first Briton to win an Olympic medal of any kind in mountain biking. Britain's previous best finish was a fifth place by Liam Killen at Athens 2004. Pidcock is also the youngest Olympic champion in mountain bike. He will celebrate his 22nd birthday on Friday and breaks the record set by Sweden's Jenny Rissveds at Rio 2016 by 79 days.
