One is under rotating and the other over rotating.

There chance of a medal looks slim if that.

The pressure builds, you know you haven't got the previous one right, you try harder for the next one, probably too hard and then you're stuck in a cycle.

It's just not going for them this morning. Both divers struggling to make it.

Poor take-offs equals poor dives, equals dismal scores - and they're falling further and further away.

Laugher and Goodfellow are falling further back. They're rooted to the bottom of the leaderboard.

It's a struggle, it really is.

This competition is a bit of a mixed bag at the moment.

There can be many a mover and a shaker to happen.

To rub salt in the wounds, leaders China - Xie Siyi and Wang Zongyuan - follow up by passing the 200-point barrier. They have a 20-point lead over second-placed USA.

That is not what the doctor ordered!

I'm afraid Dan Goodfellow completely over rotated and big splash there.

They'll be marked down in synchronisation and also execution for Goodfellow.

Let's hope that doesn't get them out of the competition because it's a long way back from here.

They're struggling.

Oh no.

Dan losing his way on his dive, massive over-rotation and Dan Goodfellow almost landing flat on his back.

Brutal. Back to bottom spot halfway through the competition. A medal may already be gone.

Ouch. That was a loose entry into the water. Real trouble here.

Meanwhile, the Britons are on the boards again. The comeback needs to come now...

Biles, who has won four previous Olympic gold medals, has qualified for finals in the vault, uneven bars, floor and the beam.

They are due to come next week.

Huge news, but not unexpected.

American megastar Simone Biles has pulled out the individual all-around final, which takes place tomorrow.

Biles exited the team event yesterday, later explaining it was in order to protect her mental health.

Much better, clean entries, well executed but fractionally different distances from the diving board.

But that's better than their first round.
