Ben Whittaker is a fascinating character because he's pretty flashy.

He's breezing it - he was fighting the fourth seed - an Egyptian who's 33 but looks far more ancient

He's boxing beautifully and sensibly - boxing the kids ears off

If he can keep this form going then he could be in serious contention for a medal.

Anyway, it's got us thinking of times we have encountered Olympians in everyday, mundane circumstances.

I once saw Max Whitlock in the lobby of a Premier Inn...

The individual dressage kicks off at 09:30 BST but will run for most of the morning. Dujardin and Gio are the second-last to go.

We have, however, already had the 'horse inspection'.

"What about the chances of more gold?" I hear you both ask.

Maybe from Geraint Thomas in the men's time trial? Or Jack Laugher and Dan Goodfellow in the men's 3m synchro?

Or Charlotte Dujardin and Gio in the individual dressage? Dujardin, remember, is bidding to become the first British woman to win gold at three separate Olympics.
