Fognini 2-6 6-3 2-6 Medvedev
Daniil Medvedev is one of a few men who look likely to offer a threat to Novak Djokovic's hopes of completing a first 'Golden Slam' in men's tennis.
What's the 'Golden Slam'? Winning all four Grand Slams, plus the Olympics, in one calendar year. Germany's Steffi Graf is the only player to have achieved this, completing the feat in 1988.
Russian second seed Medvedev, who would not face Djokovic until the final if both get that far, is through to the quarter-finals after seeing off Italy's Fabio Fognini.
Serbia's Djokovic will be on court in a couple of hours or so for his third-round match against Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
We're also expecting to see Britain's Liam Broady in action soon (probably in about an hour).
Broady, who marked his Olympic debut with a fine win over Wimbledon semi-finalist Hubert Hurkacz earlier this week, plays French veteran Jeremy Chardy.

Men's coxless four
Got to feel for Oliver Cook. He gave an emotional interview to BBC Sport after the men's coxless four: "I do (have the steering). I need to diagnose it but I feel I screwed up a bit and as I was closing in at the end and taking big strokes at the end going for the line I forgot the steering and that’s what cost us to be honest, cost us a medal.
"All I can say is thank you to everyone who stayed up to watch tonight and I’m really sorry we’re not coming back with something."
