Carlos Ortiz had been out on his own at the top of the leaderboard for a while - now he has got company.

American world number five Xander Schauffele has crashed the Mexican's one-man fiesta.

After an eagle on 14 and birdie on 16, Schauffele knocks his approach on the par-four 17th to a few feet and sinks the birdie putt.

That moves him alongside Ortiz, who has made six straight pars, on 10 under.

    Rowing

The men's eight crew took bronze in the final race of the Tokyo 2020 regatta on Friday, adding to a silver in the men's quadruple sculls.

But Great Britain's underwhelming performance in Tokyo leaves them 14th in the rowing medal table, below Ireland whose gold and bronze medals take them to eighth.

Is is the first time the GB team failed to win a rowing gold at an Olympic Games since 1980 and their lowest total since the same number at Atlanta in 1996.

Team GB was the leading rowing nation at Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016, claiming six, nine and five medals respectively at those Games.

But the world number 25, who was seeded 12th in Tokyo, has just booked his place in the final in two days' time.

The 25-year-old beat Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta, the sixth seed, 6-3 6-3 in the semi-finals.

We have words from Bryony Page, who has won bronze in the trampoline, backing up silver from Rio 2016.

“I’m extremely happy and relieved, I can’t believe I’ve got a second Olympic medal, it’s amazing," she said.

“I hoped I could do it, I put a bit of pressure on myself about it. At the start of the cycle I choose to have surgery on my ankle to fix an issue I’d been struggling with for a few years.

“The first surgery didn’t solve the injury so I had to go in again and I was out for two years. My second surgery caused of bit of nerve damage and that put some doubt in my mind about whether I could get back on the trampoline.

“I was so grateful to be back doing what I loved and try to get back to the standard I was in Rio and then pushing on. I might not have shown my very best today but it was the best I could have done.”
