It's gone goal crazy in the third quarter!

Great finish - controlled and powerful.

If Wimbledon played hockey... Great Britain go route one to regain the lead.

They scoop a long ball forward from the back, Sam Ward does well to bring it under control just outside the circle and lay if off to Liam Ansell. And from a wide angle he fires the ball high into the top corner, beyond the reach of the Belgium goalkeeper. Great finish by Ansell.

    Belgium 1-1 Great Britain

Belgium earn a penalty corner and Tom Boon's shot deflects off a GB defender and high past goalkeeper Ollie Payne.

The umpire is getting it checked. If Liam Ansell was within five metres and it hits him above the knee it would be deemed dangerous. It doesn't though, the goal's given, it's all square.

    Belgium 0-1 Great Britain

Let's hope that decision doesn't end up costing cost Great Britain victory.

They may already be through to the quarter-finals but they're looking to ensure they don't finish fourth in Pool B.

That would mean they'll avoid playing Australia, who look in great shape having topped Pool A.

    Belgium 0-1 Great Britain

    Simon Mason
Ex-GB Olympic hockey player on BBC TV

That is a goal and he's absolutely got it wrong! Great Britain wasted their referral three or four minutes ago, and that was a goal. The referee could've done a self-referral but he's chosen not to.

It was a clear goal and it should be 2-0 - GB have been robbed.

You can see it both ways, players are around the umpire, he was certain.

'Stop clipping me'published at 14:00 British Summer Time 30 July 2021

Britain's Eilish McColgan finished 10th in her 5,000m heat to miss out on qualification for the final - but had her heels clipped during the race.

“On the first lap I was shouting at them saying ‘stop clipping me, stop clipping me’. Every single lap," she said.

“It plays on your mind because you realise you shouldn’t be speaking during the race, but every lap I felt like ‘I’m going to go down, I’m going to go down’ and then at 600m I got very badly, badly clipped, so I just felt like then it sapped me. I felt good before but after that I was running so slow.

“I don’t know who was behind us but even she was getting clipped. The two of us were constantly speaking and I was aware I shouldn’t be constantly shouting and chatting the middle of the race."

GB denied second goalpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 30 July 2021

    Belgium 0-1 Great Britain

Now then, Great Britain wasted a referral claiming a back stick moments ago. And it's come back to bite them.

Jack Waller nudges it goalwards from close range and past the goalkeeper, and he and Sam Ward claim it crossed the line before being cleared by a defender.

The umpire refuses to refer it himself, but the replays show it did go in.

'Bam, the heat hits you pretty hard'published at 13:54 British Summer Time 30 July 2021

Britain's Marc Scott after finishing 14th in the 10,000m final:

“It said it was like 30C on the track and just felt even hotter than that. Going into the race you feel good, you feel good, the laps go by and you’re still feeling good, and then just bam, it hits you pretty hard and it’s over the last mile where I’ve struggled a lot more than I thought I would.

“Regardless of the conditions, everyone faces it, so you’ve just got to commit and hope for the best really."
