Almost immediately after the re-start, a cross comes in to the GB box and Sam Kerr rises above Steph Houghton to head past Ellie Roebuck.

Team GB have a mountain to climb now.

Two goals in 15 minutes. They couldn't, could they?

    Sue Smith

Wow. It's just going from one thing to another. Fowler, I said she had a good game in the last game she played. The ball falls to her and straight away with one lift of her head, she has a go at goal. The deflection off Bronze takes it right into the top corner and Roebuck has no chance. The youngster again, she's high in confidence.

This is doing nothing for my nerves.

    Same here, Sue!

    4x400m mixed relay

Wow. Big news in this new event - the USA, the world record holders, have been disqualified in the first of the two heats.

Great Britain are about to run in their heat and making up the GB team are Zoey Clark, Emily Diamond, Lee Thompson and Cameron Chalmers.

Each quartet is going for a man leading them off, then their female runners for the middle two legs and their second male runner to finish.

Team GB go and miss a penalty and then Australia go up the other end and get a deflected shot and take the lead.

It is a brilliant touch by Fowler, the second one takes a volley, it takes a horrible deflection of Lucy Bronze who has her head in her hands and now Team GB find themselves 3-2 behind

An Olympic debut...published at 12:11 British Summer Time 30 July 2021

    4x400m mixed relay

This is a new one for the Tokyo Olympics, as the 4x400m mixed relay makes its debut.

The heats have just got under way and see teams of four competing, two women and two men, with each athlete running a 400m leg - which order teams go out in is up to them, but will be an interesting tactical point worth looking out for.

The event was first held in international competition in 2017 but came to the fore at the 2019 World Championships, where the USA set the current record of 3:09.34.

Will that be broken in Tokyo?!

Disappointing. But Micah has made an unbelievable save there, read which way Caroline Weir was going to go. It's a comfortable height though.

Wow. 18-year-old substitute Mary Fowler steps up with a huge goal. Two minutes after Caroline Weir's penalty was saved, the Montpellier forward shoots on the edge of the box and it's deflected in off Lucy Bronze.

    Ellie Roebuck had no chance.

    PENALTY SAVEDpublished at 101 mins

Oh no. It's a poor penalty and Teagan Micah guesses the right way. It's weak from Caroline Weir and an easy save in the end for the Matildas goalkeeper.

    'That's racing, but I'm gutted'published at 12:05 British Summer Time 30 July 2021

    Women's 5,000m heats

There will be no GB representation in the final of the women's 5,000m after Eilish McColgan and Amy-Eloise Markovc also failed to progress from their heat.

Markovc finished ninth with a PB of 15:03:22 while McColgan was going strongly until it appeared she may have been clipped, slipping back and eventually finishing 10th.

"I'm so tall & my legs are so long that it's not even that I clip people's feet, I clip people's hands," she said afterwards.

"But that's racing, I know that's the way it is. Obviously I'm absolutely gutted about that."

What a save. Keira Walsh had a similar opportunity in the first half, in the same position, and players don't close her down. It was a very good reaction save from Micah to tip it over the bar.

    CHANCE!published at 94 mins

    Team GB 2-2 (ET) Australia

It's a bright start to extra-time for GB as Keira Walsh fires in a shot from the edge of the box. She hits it hard and it dips just at the right time. Teagan Micah watches it all the way and gets enough on it to tip it over the bar.

The resulting corner eventually. finds Ellen White, and only a slight deflection denies her a hat-trick from yards out.

That's it. After 90 minutes Team GB and Australia can't be separated.

That's too easy. Defensively Team GB have to do better. Kerr had so much time and space. She actually has time to stop a little bit, see where she wants to put it.

When the ball comes in GB have to win that first header. If you don't win that first header and when you don't, you got to close her down quickly. She just had to pick her head up and see where she wanted to put it.

I'm gutted - to concede in the 89th minute, just to manage the game. I know it's not over yet but I'm so gutted. They've had such a good mentality of keeping a clean sheet and seeing things out.
