'I'll do my best for gold'published at 06:43 British Summer Time 6 August 2021

    Women's middleweight semi-final

    BBC One

More from Lauren Price on BBC One: "I had the scores in the second, I was 3-2 up, so it was all on the last round - I needed a big last round. For me, it was no silly mistakes and sticking to my boxing.

"Each fight gets harder and it doesn't get harder than that today. We're number one and two in the world, we've met so many times.

"It's nothing new to me going into a final. I've been here before, Wales, Europeans, it's nothing new to me. It's everyone's dream to get to that Olympic final and I'll do my best to bring back that gold."

    Women's middleweight semi-final

    BBC One

GB's Lauren Price on BBC One: "It's pretty mad, I knew I was up against it today, we're the best two in the world. We've faced each other a number of times and we know each other inside out, so it was whoever was better on the day.

"I started a little slow, but that's when your experience comes into it - listening to my corner. I went out in the second and third round to win the fight so I'm over the moon.

"I take my hat off to her, she's been around a while. Olympic silver medallist, she's world-class. I'm really pleased with the decision today.

"Dave (Alloway, Lauren's coach) is pretty calm and cool, I didn't really think much of the points deduction. When I fight, I usually get a point off because there's a height difference and it can sometimes get scrappy. I don't really think about that much, I just knew I needed to pick it up, especially going into the last round."

'Price wins ugly'published at 06:24 British Summer Time 6 August 2021

    Women's middleweight semi-final

    Steve Bunce
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

Lauren Price is now on for a gold medal - the only asterisk attached to that was this woman Fontijn - I would make a case for Fontijn being one of the best female boxers of the last 25 years but she's been beaten.

Price will be going into this final as a heavy favourite - she wins very ugly. She puts every part of her body into it - it's such a victory for her. She has beaten these two women that are in the other semi-final, very comfortably.

    Women's middleweight semi-final

    Steve Bunce

Nothing in any of the three rounds and with the points taken off her - she deserved it for that last round - she boxed well and suddenly boxed like she should've been boxing the whole time against Fontijn.

That was pure guts and pure heart.

Incredible. It wasn't the best of starts for Lauren Price and she was unfortunate to get that point dedicted and she had to work her way into the contest.

Fontijn did not work hard enough in that last round.

So pleased for Price - she deserves it.
