Remember, the final sprint of the race gets double points, so could be the difference between glory and despair.

Here comes a counter from Denmark and the Netherlands. GB just slightly off the pace at the moment.
GB are in bronze-medal position.
Men's madison
The French pairing consists of Benjamin Thomas, Donavan Grondin and they jump to 32 points, four ahead of Denmark and eight ahead of GB.
But GB are eight clear of both Belgium and the Netherlands. Fifty-five laps to go, GB in bronze as it stands.
Men's madison
France, for the third consecutive sprint, take the maximum points and they're leading now. But do they have enough left in the tank to hold on to it? They've gone early.
Sixty-six laps to go.

This is the move that could decide the podium, the two strongest teams have gone on the counter attack but they have not been able to break away from the clutches of the rest of the group.
Men's madison
It's all or nothing from the French and they pick up five points from the latest sprint but bad news for GB as Denmark take three.
That changes it all and it's now 1. Denmark 25, 2. France 24, 3. Great Britain 23.
GB are seven points ahead of the Dutch, but the long-time lead has gone. Seventy-five laps to go.

This looks to be brilliantly timed by the French, closely followed by the Brits. That would put them in gold medal position if they claim the points.
France are fully committed to this attack
France are in bronze-medal position but Donavan Grondin storms away and that helps get them five points from the next sprint.
Denmark and GB on 22, then France on 19. Ninety laps to go.
A brave attack from the French. Is this going to catapult them to the gold?

There's another crash at the back of the field there and both Americans are down on the ground. Clearly it was a changeover that went wrong and one looks in significant pain with his forearm or wrist.
Men's madison
It's half-time, but no break in the action. GB are on course for gold, but it's so tight.
This is how it stands...
Bad news for the Americans. They're both on the deck.
Track Cycling
It was three points for GB in sprint nine and crucially Denmark in second overall failed to score. That gives Team GB a four-point advantage after lap 90 of 200.

GB are attacking now! They are on the move and closing. Matt Walls has gone early.
They are looking to extend their lead in the overall position as others have been catching them up.
GB and the United States charge away, just as Chris was after in an attempt to wipe out some energy from their competitors.

This is the point where attacks may start to come so vigilance is required.

GB not quite involved in Sprint eight and just further back down the field - they are still in the gold medal position from Denmark and France.

Men's modern pentathlon
The unpredictability of the equestrian aspect of the pentathlon could see a complete shake-up in the leaderboard. There's 12 obstacles in around 500 metres and 80 seconds to complete the course before penalty points occur.
The twist is that your own horse is not required, meaning each rider will be given a completely random horse!
GB's Choong will be hoping for minimal mistakes in this round, in order to defend his current lead.
No joy for GB in sprint seven but we're still in gold position, but just one point ahead of Denmark. We're not even at halfway though in this, one of the most brutal events on the calendar.

Natalie Lewis: I love the madison, nice to see us win dominating yesterday but also see a closer and more interesting one today.
Rachel: Men’s madison feels a bit like Eurovision, except Britain actually have points.
Bob Hawkins: The madison’s a bit like Hyde Park Corner during the morning rush hour .. but less understandable.
