Six-time Olympic cycling champion on BBC TV

I have never seen a race like it, to watch the guy at the front ride off into the distance, it was just incredible.

He gained a bit of height, kept the pressure on the pedal and he just went for it. It was never in doubt.

    An absolutely awesome performance.

No plan survives contact with the enemy. He owes Matthew Glaetzer a beer there, he lost contact with the wheel and gave Kenny way too much time and he thought 'I am having that, that is my best chance'

It is about conservation of energy, she could have put more energy in there but it all builds up and Laura Kenny would have wanted to do just enough to stay in the race.

I think it is law of averages. Laura Kenny has ridden so many sensational elimination races that one wasn't going to work out.

We have seen so many close calls in the past and that one didn't go her way.

I thought she just got away with it and then she would be able to dig her way out.

There's a huge cheer in the velodrome as Japanese rider Yumi Kajihara is one of two riders remaining in the elimination race. In the end Clara Copponi wins but Kajihara is extremely well placed to challenge for gold.

Considering she gave away a lot points because of that crash in round one, that is a long way back for Laura Kenny regardless of what happens in this race.

    Women's omnium

Laura Kenny is OUT of the elimination race! She found herself stuck near the back and goes out in 13th place.

It is going to be very, very difficult for her from here with just one race to go.
