Danny McGuire does it again and Leeds Rhinos have taken a huge, huge step towards the treble.

The experienced half-back cruises over for his second try of the game after Kallum Watkins made an excellent break down the right touchline.

Leeds go 10 points clear as Kevin Sinfield slots over the kick from an acute angle - a winning lead for the Rhinos?

A superb take by Ryan Hall to claim Matty Smith's high kick, and the Leeds man gets a penalty as Dom Manfredi is adjudged to have tackled his opponent in the air.

Boos rang out from Wigan fans as the way in which Leeds kept play alive for Joel Moon's try just didn't sit well with them.

With the score going to video replays, the footage brings a momentary smile to Warriors faces as there looked to have been a knock-on in the build up.

But it was short lived, after all the replays, change of camera views and slow-motion dissection of every pass, fumble and and dive ultimately went Leeds' way.

  4. Leeds Rhinos 10-6 Wigan Warriorspublished at 32 mins

Referee Ben Thaler is back in the action again, awarding a knock-on against Leeds winger Ryan Hall two metres from his own line.

The chance is wasted by Wigan, though, as a low George Williams kick sails out of play.

A big eight minutes remaining in this first half.

That's thrown a completely different light on this game now. You look at the Wigan players, they're absolutely incensed by that decision.

Leeds get a penalty five metres out but elect to run the ball instead of going for the two points.

And that call is rewarded with a try, as centre Joel Moontouches down to put Leeds in front for the first time in the Grand Final.

After two minutes of deliberation, the video referee decides Danny McGuire didn't lose the ball forward earlier in the move and the try is awarded.

Jamie Peacock rejoins the action from Leeds Rhinos' interchange bench, coming on for Mitch Garbutt.

Very few people would be welcomed back onto the field with the sort of excited reception that JP commands today on what is his retirement swansong.

It's tight, it's tense, it's everything we expected it to be.

A 79th-minute drop-goal from Kevin Sinfield or Matty Smith to win this, anyone?

Tremendous rugby league there. Leeds have scrambled, Adam Cuthbertson did really well, and Brad Singleton's defence at the moment is absolutely fantastic.

Wigan get into a good position on the last tackle and try to keep the ball alive, but they're eventually swallowed up by a wall of blue and amber.

In the meantime, Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield is getting his head strapped after suffering a cut in a clash of heads with a team-mate. Could well have been Adam Cuthbertson, who's also getting some attention from the physio.

Another ball spill by Wigan's Matty Smith, who is caught unawares by Matty Bowen's inside pass, and Leeds have a scrum on halfway.

Then Adam Cuthbertson does likewise for Leeds.

After that frenetic start, both sides are struggling to impose themselves on the game.

Matty Smith has experience of performing well on the big occasion.

He picked up the Lance Todd Trophy for a man-of-the-match display in Wigan's Challenge Cup final win over Hull FC in 2013, and helped the Warriors to Grand Final success less than two months later.

He'll be keen to recover from that early knock-on, which led to Leeds' try.

    Ah, the first minor flashpoint.

Brad Singleton takes out Wigan's Dom Manfredi in the air and the Warriors have a penalty near their own line.

Michael McIlorum almost restores Wigan's lead, but some desperate tackling by Zak Hardaker keeps out the Wigan hooker.

Good stuff from Wigan, who chase a high bomb and force Leeds winger Tom Briscoe into his own in-goal area. Goal-line drop out for the Rhinos.

We're only 10 minutes in, but this is shaping up to be a very, very good game.

The noise from the east end of Old Trafford was enough of an indication that something special was going on.

Liam Farrell's break after taking Matty Smith's pass and pass to Joe Burgess to score was all done to the soulful tune of a few thousand Wiganers.

But in a unified shriek of joy from the other end, Leeds celebrate Danny McGuire's try.

Leeds have had the pressure, they've tested both sides of the Wigan defence, and sometimes the last play can be the best one.

Danny McGuire responds almost immediately for Leeds.

Matty Smith's drop proves costly as Kevin Sinfield dots a kick through to half-back partner McGuire and he gratefully dives onto the ball to level the scores.

Joy turns to despair for Wigan as Matty Smith drops the kick-off and Leeds have a chance to attack the Warriors' line.
