This is what we've come to know about Wigan. They've soaked up all that pressure, it was Leeds, Leeds, Leeds. A little bit of a kick-through, a pick up by Farrell, and they've gone the full length of the pitch.

Out of nothing, Wigan strike first through Joe Burgess!

Liam Farrell breaks from inside his own half and Burgess makes an excellent run in support down the left touchline. Farrell's pass is perfect and Burgess - in his final Wigan appearance before moving to Sydney Roosters - crosses in a Grand Final for the second year in a row.

Matty Bowen's successful kick makes it the ideal start for the Warriors.

  3. Leeds Rhinos 0-0 Wigan Warriorspublished at 3 mins

Some nervy Wigan defending allows Rob Burrow to almost chase down his own kick. The Warriors claim on their own line and look to restore some order.

Did someone turn up the heat?

Now I know these flame throwers pitch-side are getting things fired up, but when Leeds and Wigan players came onto the field and Old Trafford bellowed a ferocious roar, the mass of excitement had a definite effect on the temperature of the place.

  5. Leeds Rhinos 0-0 Wigan Warriorspublished at 2 mins

Zak Hardaker makes a nice break from deep for Leeds and it's a solid first set of six for the Rhinos. However, Kevin Sinfield's high kick is claimed well by Wigan's Joe Burgess.

It's really too close to call, they've probably been the top two teams in the competition all year. I've got Wigan as very slight favourites, but it is very slight.

They say "visualise success", "be the ball", "live the moment". Many things are said when it comes to trying to ready oneself for the big occasion.

But I've never heard "Be the Rhino". Maybe this guy is onto something...

At the other end of the age spectrum to Peacock, Sinfield, Leuluai and Bowen, what a few weeks it's been for Wigan centre Oliver Gildart.

The 19-year-old only made his Super League debut in April while on loan at Salford and made his first-team bow for the Warriors in August.

The 10th appearance of his fledgling career will be in a Grand Final.

"I was stood in the stands at Old Trafford last year cheering the boys on and I always dreamed of playing in a game like this," the teenager told BBC Sport.

"It's come around so fast. It's a bit surreal really, but it's an unbelievable feeling."

Matty Bowen plays his final match for Wigan, bringing to an end his two-year spell with the Warriors.

The former Australia international full-back has appeared in Grand Finals for NRL side North Queensland Cowboys (2005) and Wigan (2014), losing both.

"Everyone keeps saying 'third time lucky' but I don't want to say that - I just want to get out there and do my job the best I can," Bowen told BBC Radio Manchester.

"Whatever happens at the end of the 80 minutes, if it was to be then so be it."

In Manchester, fans have been able to get an up close and personal look at what is up for grabs this evening.

Flanked by guards, the line of supporters stretched outside the fanzone at Old Trafford as they waited for a happy snap with the Super League Grand Final trophy. The silverware was a little bit of a rock star in its own right.

These Leeds fans, Hannah Haigh and Nathan Bide, will be roaring on a Rhinos treble today.

The trophy has just made it's way out onto the field, with just 15 minutes to go until kick-off.

Next season's Leeds Rhinos team will have an unfamilar look to it. No Kylie Leuluai, no Jamie Peacock, and no Kevin Sinfield.

The Leeds and former England captain has won everything there is to win at club level, but he wants to round off his long association with the Rhinos with a domestic treble - a feat that only Bradford (2003) and St Helens (2006) have achieved during the Super League era.

"It's never been done in my time so it would be really special," Sinfield, who is switching codes to rugby union, told BBC Radio Leeds.

"I want to enjoy it and there's a lot of people who have played a huge part in my career and it would be nice to put on a good performance for them."
