    Argentina 3-14 Australia

Argentina have been holding on to the ball more than their Australian opponents in the opening 20 minutes - but that is the match in a nutshell. The Argentines have coughed up possession too easily, with the ruthless Wallabies punishing them.

    Australia steal!

Nothing going for the Pumas at the moment as Agustin Creevy's throw is spilled off the top.

Argentina finally get their hands on it, but the Pumas are all too upright to get the drive going.

Held up and it is scrum Australia.

Argentina boot up to within five metres of the Australia line from a penalty.

An airborne Bernard Foley looks like he has clawed the ball back into play, but the officials award the line-out the Pumas' way.

"You can't get isolated by Pocock. You know he's going to be the first man at the breakdown, you just need to clear him. He is absolutely immense - his timing of the jackal and his angles of running are so destructive."

David Pocock is already making every breakdown into a royal rumble of a wrestle.

The Australia number eight secures a precious turnover right where it matters - in the shadow of his own sticks.

    More trouble for Argentina.

Flying wing Juan Imhoff is off for a head examination. Lucas Ambrosino is on in his place.

    Great work from Marcelo Bosch.

The Pumas centre is not the quickest, but he is a crafty breakdown operator and he earns Argentina a penalty up in the Aussie half as he gets over the top of the tackled Israel Folau.

A lovely piece of high-wire walking from Santiago Cordero in defence as he fields a kick into the Puma's backfield and, with his back to the chasing Aussies, sells the on-rushing Adam Ashley-Cooper an audacious dummy.

Classy and something for the Pumas fans to cheer.

"Both teams are looking for the numbers and that extra man on the outside. There have been opportunities for both sides, but Australia have taken theirs."

Australia are giving Argentina a taste of the medicine the Pumas dished out to Ireland last weekend.

Their lightning start continues as Tevita Kuridrani makes big yards in midfield.

The Pumas are looking very leaky in defence. Diego Maradona is drinking deeply of something comforting.

I would think the All Blacks are enjoying watching this.

Neither side looks watertight in defence.

"It's a beautiful pass - they've read the blitz defence. It's a long ball over the top and it's just about reading the opposition. It's a very narrow defence and one pass beats the lot of them."

It all comes from a fluffed tap and go from Martin Landajo.

Australia punish the Puma scrum-half's knock-on with a rock-solid scrum, a switch of direction in the backline and Bernard Foley's looping mis-pass to Adam Ashley-Cooper.

He scampers into the corner and Foley lands the extras from a testing angle.

It is a long way back already for the Argentines.
