It's a weekend off next weekend. But then we're into Wales v France, Italy v Scotland and England v Ireland.

But until then, on Valentine's Day, it's England on top. For now.

    France v Ireland was turgid.

Wales v Scotland came to life late on.

And we finally got a try-fest from today's action. Relive it all on BBC Two at 19:00 GMT tonight.

Get this: Wasps are 19-3 up against high-flyers Saracens after 14 minutes. Worth a look I'd say, if only to hear about the superb Elliot Daly.

Here's an odd one for you. The official man of the match was Ben Youngs.

Curious, that, to say the least. It's given by the host broadcaster and was named after about an hour - but still...

Horatio McSherry: A hiding? It's one thing running in try after try against Italy at 65 minutes; it's another thing against any of the others.

Ian Bradley: England very flattered by the score-line, the first half nowhere near good enough.

  10. 'We thought they would fatigue'published at 16:11

    FT - Italy 9-40 England

England head coach Eddie Jones speaking to ITV: "We thought we'd get our points in the last 20. We let them in the game in the first half with ill-discipline. In the second half we got our rhythm and it was a pretty good performance.

"We tried to take some pace into the game early and thought they would fatigue in the last 20. Off our ball we were not attacking so well and gave it back easily. Off their ball we attacked well.

"It's fantastic Paul Hill and Maro Itoje got their debuts, they will have great careers for England. For us it's a matter of who starts and who finishes."

  12. 'Frustrating first half'published at 16:05

    FT - Italy 9-40 England

England captain Dylan Hartley speaking to ITV: "The first half was frustrating. Overall it's a very satisfying win. The result was key. The bench were impressive in the last 20. We weren't 100% in the first half and we have high standards.

"Breakdown-wise we were slow. We let Italy into the game. Second half we came out and took the onus to compete at the ruck harder and got some good return. We've got a good balance. I'm chuffed to bits with the young fellas."

  14. 'We showed what England can do'published at 15:59

    Italy 9-40 England

Jonathan Joseph speaking to ITV: "We showed what England can do – we are proud of that performance. We needed to come out firing in the second half. The errors from the first half were eradicated and we kicked on. We’re very proud of our defence and our structure. That helped force the error for my intercept try."

"Once England got to the last 20 minutes, the quality came through. However, England also did that against Fiji in the World Cup. Eddie Jones will have expected more progression than what we saw in the first half. England have a long way to go but I think Eddie is the right man to take England there."

Well worth a watch this. It's Jonathan Joseph's second try of his 18-minute hat-trick.

The dink through from Danny Care is lovely. The touch of a Care Bear, if you will.

    So it's a triple for Double J.

Three tries for Jonathan Joseph. Five tries in total. But have England dished out the "hiding" Eddie Jones wanted?

A bit of comedy juggling to send everyone home happy at the end.

Martin Castrogiovanni plays a blind pass that looks like it would be a trickshot if this were snooker. England gather and want one more try.
