Andrew Garrad: Some of these England players look like they've never played the game before!

Joshua Goodfellow: Still waiting for Eddie's masterplan to kick in.

England finally win a line-out - although it's an Italian one.

    But they lose it again.

Jonathan Joseph has no support in the ruck and Michele Campagnaro is in to win it. Carlo Canna puts a kick to the corner, which Sergio Parisse is grinding the 32-year-old knees to get to. Anthony Watson is underneath it though.

  3. Italy 9-11 Englandpublished at 38 mins

Penalties, penalties, penalties. Dan Cole tackles off his feet and Italy can find touch.

Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

“Up to this point, Italy have looked better with ball in hand. England are creaking when Italy have got the ball. This is not an England lead where they have dominated territory or possession.”

  5. Penalty - Cannapublished at 36 mins

    Italy 9-11 England

Three from three for Carlo Canna. Nicely done from the left side. They're chipping away are the Italians.

Sergio Parisse is quick out of the back of the scrum and Italy have advantage after a high tackle from Ben Youngs.

Carlo Canna throws a dummy and goes, but is hauled down. So we go back for the penalty,

  7. Italy 6-11 Englandpublished at 34 mins

Urgh. England's line-outs have been horrible. George Kruis takes this one in but concedes the scrum in the process.

A good period with the ball in hand for Italy here.

Gonzalo Garcia gives it a poke down the line and Braam Steyn, a replacement off the bench, is almost on to it, before it finds touch.

Speaking of Garcia, his game is over. He hobbles to the touchline to be replaced by Andrea Pratichetti.

Adam Shaw: Canna gives Italy something they haven't had for large parts of their history - a kicker who can punish infringements.

Anthony Watson superbly strips Gonzalo Garcia of the ball and romps a few yards up field. Lovely stuff. George Ford then makes the decision to find the corner and does it well.

“England got in amongst it in the breakdown and turned Italy over. Good score coming from a good kick and good kick pressure.”

  13. try

Italy got themselves into a pile of trouble there.

It's George Ford's up and under taken by Luke McLean but spilled under pressure from Mike Brown.

They claim the turnover five metres out and Mako Vunipola looks like he's going for the line, but instead hands it off to Owen Farrell who whips a luscious pass out wide left for Ford to bang over the line.

Boom. George Biagi is right in the face of Ben Youngs as he tries to box kick his way out of danger. But the Italian was offside.

“I am impressed with Carlo Canna. He looks like has a good feel for the game and he is kicking the ball with confidence.”

  17. Missed penalty - Garciapublished at 23 mins

    Italy 6-6 England

Too far out for Carlo Canna this one, so the ginger-bearded Gonzalo Garcia (see below) will give it a punt.

It's a decent whack too, but wide of the right upright.

  18. Italy 6-6 Englandpublished at 22 mins

England once again don't roll away from the tackle after the restart, which gives Italy the chance to go to the corner.

And now Billy Vunipola is coming in from the side.

Three silly penalties in two silly minutes for England.

Ian Bradley: Italy clearly fired up by their team talk, given by Jones.

  20. Penalty - Cannapublished at 20 mins

    Italy 6-6 England

So Carlo Canna gets another go, this time from the tee. It's from a similar position as his first penalty and it's cleanly over.

Some decent kicking on display so far.
