    And his injury rehab downtime?

"I’ve been catching up with family, with mates from school, going out and buying them tequila so I could watch them get drunk. It’s been nice to be normal for a while, like everyone else. I miss normal people.”

The early signs are not good for Italy, but very good for France. They are driving through at will almost now, the Italian defence looking ragged and stretched.

A bad start to the half for Italy, no strangers to a second-half whacking, and that lead is already up to eight points for France. Gael Fickou breaks the line again, so easy for him, and sends in wing Virimi Vakatawa to run it from 60m+...

Great tackle by Edoardo Padovani! Try saver from the Italian full-back.

If France win this, and Scotland beat England later, and Italy win in Edinburgh next week, and Ireland beat England in Dublin, with no bonus points, then France can be champions.

Both tries in that first half came as a result of the defending side being too slow to smell the danger. As fatigue sets in there could be more scores to come.

Any hope of an Italy comeback? Not if previous history is anything to go by.

The Azzurri have lost 54 of their 55 previous Six Nations games when they have trailed by five points or more at half-time.

A win against Scotland in 2008 is the only exception.

  20. "Apparently everyone we've beaten has had a bad day" published at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2017

    England v Scotland (16:00 GMT)

    Jason O'HalloranImage source, SNS

Scotland attack coach Jason O'Halloran says that Scotland have not got enough credit for their performance so far in the Six Nations.

"Apparently everyone we've beaten has had a bad day. It's patronising at times. I think it's a bit of a hangover from the past," he told BBC Sport.

O'Halloran - who turned down the chance to be Lions attack coach this summer in favour of getting to know his new post at Glasgow - has overseen eight Six Nations games with Scotland.

In those they have scored 18 tries, more than they had scored in the previous 15 Six Nations games.
