  1. 'Intelligent play by Scotland'published at 13:17 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 15-0 Italy

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland prop on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

That was really intelligent play by Scotland.

It all came from the line-out, Italy keep throwing it to Sergio Parisse even though he's the one Scotland are marking all the time.

    Why?

  2. 'Scotland making good yards'published at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 15-0 Italy

    Andy Robinson
Former Scotland head coach on BBC One

    Another really well-built try.

Ali Price scooting round the sides and causing Italy problems and Matt Scott runs a really great line.

What has been impressive about Scotland is their timing on to the ball, they are making really good yards with their carries.

  3. Scott scores Scotland's second trypublished at 38 mins

Scotland 15-0 Italy (Russell missed conversion)

Full marks for Jonny Gray who won the line-out dog-fight against Sergio Parisse to win the ball initially and Scotland's backs make the most of his good work.

Ali Price dollies up a cheeky little box-chip, Stuart Hogg taps the ball back in the in-goal area as he competes with Giovanbattista Venditti and Matt Scott flops on the ball for the Scot's second try.

Russell just wide from the angle with the conversion.

  5. 'Russell absolutely focused'published at 13:12 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 10-0 Italy

    Andy Robinson
Former Scotland head coach on BBC One

Finn Russell has managed things very well. At Twickenham last week his game fell apart a bit under pressure.

Today he seems to be absolutely focused. He scans in front of him, looking for the best place to kick, and makes the right decision.

  6. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Scotland 10-0 Italy

A superb stretching take in the middle of the line-out from John Barclay, soaring like a highland salmon.

A bit of a mix-up in midfield turns over possession however.

Italy grubber through to Stuart Hogg and the Scotland full-back pings a siege gun kick over the head of Sergio Parisse and into the Italy 22m.

    A mighty boot.

  8. 'Italy must sort out their kicking'published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 10-0 Italy

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland international on BBC One

At 10-6 it would be a very different game, so Italy need to sort that out.

  9. 'Pathetic kicking'published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 10-0 Italy

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland prop on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

It's karma that. They didn't deserve that penalty.

But that's pathetic kicking from an international goal-kicker.

  10. Missed penaltypublished at 32 mins

    Scotland 10-0 Italy

    Oh my.

Carlo Canna is kicking like he is wearing clogs.

Another pretty straightforward chances screws wide.

Italy have enough on their plate in this tournament without brainfades off the tee.

  11. Penalty to Italypublished at 30 mins

    Scotland 10-0 Italy

The referee sends up the bat signal for the video official.

Good spot. Jonny Gray has sneakily changed his angle to block off Sergio Parisse and protect Finn Russell as the Scotland fly-half gathers a high ball in front of his own posts.

A penalty and a central shot 35m out for Carlo Canna...

  12. 'Scotland made that hard work'published at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 10-0 Italy

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland prop on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

They made harder work of it than they needed to. They had men out wide but the forwards kept on rumbling.

Eventually Alex Dunbar, he's just so strong, beat the first tackle and got quick ball for the try.

But that's where your scrum-half needs to be more dominant and not let the forwards control it.

  13. 'Great try for Scotland'published at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 10-0 Italy

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland international on BBC One

    Great try for Scotland.

A lot of hard yards done by the forwards. Good decisions by Ali Price and Finn Russell to change the point of attack and Russell goes over for the try.

The speed of the ball, the players coming round, it's good decision-making and a good try for Scotland.

  14. Russell crosses for Scotland's first trypublished at 27 mins

    Scotland 10-0 Italy (con Russell)

Scotland's forwards batter the hosts up to within five metres.

Alex Dunbar sucks in a couple of defenders with a little bit of Saturday Night Fever stepping.

Quick ball and Ali Price puts Glasgow team-mate Finn Russell through the hole as the fly-half comes onto a flat ball at pace and a wicked angle.

Lovely stuff and Russell's kick is a beaut, drawing in from the touchline.

  15. try

  16. 'Well played Scotland'published at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 3-0 Italy

    Andy Robinson
Former Scotland head coach on BBC One

Well played Scotland, a great momentum and building of the phases, building of their attacking game.

Well played Ali Price, because the attack lost a bit of momentum, but he brought it back by using the forwards.

  17. 'Scotland should've scored'published at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Scotland 3-0 Italy

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland prop on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

I think twice they could have moved it left, they had numbers up on the left-hand side.

    They should've scored there.

  18. Replacementpublished at 27 mins

    Scotland 3-0 Italy

Finn Russell chips across field looking for Tim Visser.

    Not quite.

The Scotland winger fails to gather cleanly.

And Huw Jones has twisted his ankle. The centre is off with Gloucester's Matt Scott on in his place.
