    Camille Lopez

It looked to be a better scrum from Wales but referee Wayne Barnes gives the penalty to France after seeing both props collapse.

He cites Wales' two previous scrums, in which they went backwards, as the reason and Thomas Francis is penalised.

And Camille Lopez slots his kick straight down the middle.

    France 7-0 Wales

France have the edge over Wales at the scrum at the moment.

The men in blue use it as a good base and another pacey attack takes them into the Wales 22.

Louis Picamoles isn't held in the tackle and gets a good offload away.

But Wales get a vital turnover and Dan Biggar hoists a huge clearance downfield.

Wales are hanging on at the moment.

The Wales midfield wanted to get up fast and knock people down, but Camille Lopez's chip exposed the space in behind.

Wales had a chance to nip that in the bud when Justin Tipuric stripped the ball in the build-up, but none of his team-mates were alive to it.

It was trademark France that try, the way they offloaded the ball and looked so strong in possession. It appears almost impossible to get the ball off them in those situations.

Wales have their first meaningful attack of the game and it comes from their pocket rocket Rhys Webb.

He spots the two-on-one and makes a quick break but the supporting players can't make it count.

Justin Tipuric eventually knocks-on and we take a brief pause before the scrum.

  7. 'Clever from France'published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    France 7-0 Wales

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales fly-half on BBC One

It was very clever from France. Camille Lopez got his head up and realised that Leigh Halfpenny was not in position and found the kick to exploit it.

A very clever try from France.

Leigh Halfpenny was out defending on the wing and with no full-back at home, a little chip by Camille Lopez finds Lamerat in open space.

An easy dive over the line.

But two missed tackles from Wales earlier in the move lead to that break.

And defensive coach Shaun Edwards will be fuming.

Guilhem Guirado was suggesting that Jonathan Davies knock-on was deliberate. It is not going to get reviewed though.

Wales were stretched by the speed at which France were recycling the ball.

In case you missed it earlier, here's the final try of Vern Cotter's reign as Scotland coach...

    France 0-0 Wales

France have started with some pace here. Wales look like they're still on the plane.

The French are getting numbers to the breakdown and quick ball. They win the penalty and Lopez dinks it into the corner.

Attacking line-out to come but it's another overthrow and Wales come away with an excellent steal.

    Frenetic start in Paris.

But Lopez's kick falls just short.

    Wales get off lightly there.

    France 0-0 Wales

A good defensive set from Wales and France weren't going anywhere, but Sam Warburton is penalised and France will have the first shot at the posts.

  15. Postpublished at 1 min

    France 0-0 Wales

George North wins the initial tap-back but his players can't get there and France get the ball clear through Camille Lopez.

A first line-out to Wales and Ken Owens, on his 50th cap....overthrows.

He'd only lost one line-out all tournament.

So it's France with the first period of possession.

  16. Kick-offpublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    France 0-0 Wales

A grey day in Paris with some empty seats due to the earlier incident at Orly airport.

But Dan Biggar gets us started.

The number 10 will want a good game to silence his critics and those calling for Sam Davies to take over at fly-half.

  18. Try time for Wales?published at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    France v Wales (14:45 GMT)

If Wales want to finish second in the Six Nations Championship they have to beat France and score four tries - and hope Ireland don't beat England.

The last time Wales managed that feat was in the 43-35 victory in 2001 when current coach Rob Howley was among the scorers.

Not quite the rendition of Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau that you get in Cardiff, there seemed to be an errant trombone there.

But a good effort from choirmaster Ken Owens and his team.

    La Marseillaise next...
