Stroke bet:  Vern deserves this result. It sums up the changes he's made. Vastly improved defence and added fire power. That's his legacy

Andrew Forbes:  People saying that Scotland are 'not much better' than Italy and ought to be relegated need to get a grip.

Chard Michael:  Go back to 5 Nations. Italy are not up to it.

Vern Cotter leaves Scotland in a much better place, he has done a great job.

The stadium is full, there is a vibrancy about the place, they are playing attacking rugby.

He is leaving on a high and he deserves great credit.

That is a brilliant team try for Scotland.

Patient build-up play, lots of hard yards and they just waited for the extra numbers in attack to be there to score what looked like a simple try.

Scotland join the dots and find the gap as Italy run out of numbers.

It was slickly done though with the Glasgow axis of Ali Price- Finn Russell and Stuart Hogg shifting the ball through the hands sharply to free Tommy Seymour for a stroll in from 10 metres out.

Finn Russell adds to an excellent kicking afternoon with another pinpoint kick.

  13. Should Six Nations introduce relegation?published at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland international on BBC One

I would say whoever is bottom of the Six Nations, there should be a play-off in that country against the top team from the second tier.

If they lose that then they don't deserve to be in the Six Nations.

Ten metres of Murrayfield turf separates them from a fourth try and the bonus point...

    Andy Robinson
Former Scotland head coach on BBC One

I have been impressed by Scotland's carries. There's real bite and they carry through the Italian wall.

Hamish Watson has had a really good match at flanker today and I think during the Six Nations he has stood out.

Italy are looking leggy. Their now-traditional second-half implosion might be nigh.

Scotland make a couple of changes with Fraser Brown on for Ross Ford at hooker and Simon Berghan replacing prop Zander Fagerson. Fagerson has had a good game.
