    England to get us going.

Australian referee Angus Gardner - something of an unknown quantity - peeps the Acme Thunderer and we are up and running.

Owen Farrell's high and hanging kick-off is claimed by Noa Nakaitaci.

  6. What does Jones see in Dylan Hartley?published at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

BBC Sports's Sonja McLaughlan has been speaking to England coach Eddie Jones - she asked him what he sees in Dylan Hartley that others may not and what makes him a good captain?

"What I like about Dylan is that he is prepared to tell people what they need to do to improve," says Jones.

"Doesn't matter if they are older players or younger players, he tells them. That's what I like about him."

The French belt out the La Marseillaise.

Now it is time for the hosts, short on harmony from the England line-up, but lacking nothing in volume or passion.

    Kick-off coming right up.

I think a big part of England's strength is their squad of 23 - not just the starting 15.

Even with all the injuries at the moment, they have such strength and depth across all areas of the field.

The Times are reporting Bath are on the verge of a swap deal - George Ford for Leicester Tigers' Freddie Burns.

Fly-half, Ford reportedly let Bath know in November that he wanted to leave with a year left on his contract and has been offered £450,000 per season to join the Tigers.

Burns is understood to be unwilling to stay at Leicester as Ford's understudy and has agreed on the switch.

  18. Monstrous French pack shows their intentionpublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    England v France (16:50 GMT)

Mark Lambert, Harlequins and England Saxons prop for the BBC Sport website: France have made their intentions clear by picking what must surely be the biggest pack in the tournament's history - they weigh about 18 and three-quarter stones a man. (That's normally the average weight for a team's props at Test level).

However, England's front five are very experienced and will be more than prepared for the battle ahead.

England's game leaders will look to keep moving the big French pack around and kick well to turn France's two electric wingers.

The French have the potential X-factor duo of Baptiste Serin and Camille Lopez as their half-back partnership, but messrs Youngs, Ford and Farrell can unpick a defence themselves at nine, 10 and 12 for England.

Expect England to win a ferocious one by about six points.

Right, time to turn the spotlight to Twickenham as England start a campaign that they hope will end with a second successive Grand Slam and a world record for top-tier Test victories.

No-one saw that coming in that dead-rubber win over Uruguay at the end of the 2015 World Cup...

Ireland will attempt to get the wheels back on the wagon away to Italy.
