    France 13-5 Scotland

Scotland surge back downfield after a superb reclaim of the restart.

The Stade de France crowd fall silent before finding a chorus of Allez Les Bleus in support of their side's defensive effort.

They have been too eager to get hold off Ali Price though.

Penalty and Finn Russell points to the posts.

Stuart Hogg has missed two tackles there. One for the try and one seven or eight phases before.

The breakdown is completely illegal though, the French players are coming in from the side. But France are winning the war of attrition and Scotland ran out of numbers.

If France keep hold of the ball, eventually Scotland will just run out of defenders.

What a score. It was so brave in defence from Scotland, but sometimes the attack just outflanks you.

So much of that try is what we love about French rugby.

    Gael Fickou (con Lopez)

    Mass x acceleration = force.

For all Scotland's bravery, there is no overcoming the basic laws of physics.

Scotland's defence is battered and sucked in before the ball is spread wide and Gael Fickou dives between Stuart Hogg and Sean Maitland to cross the final metre.

And two more from Camille Lopez from out wide.

    France 6-5 Scotland

France's industrial grade runners soften up the France defence with Uini Antonio and Loann Goujon crashing up.

    Now it is spun wide.

    Gael Fickou is almost in.

Scotland scramble, but are still deep in trouble...

We talked at the start of the game about discipline. Ali Price should not have pushed him, but Camille Lopez throws the ball away.

The referee needs to deal with this. The guys want to play an up-tempo game.

  7. Missed penaltypublished at 28 mins

    France 6-5 Scotland

A bit of biff. Ali Price is peeved that Camile Lopez is walking off with the ball after a penalty is awarded against France.

The replacement Scotland scrum-half gives Lopez an almighty shove, sparking a bit of hold-me-back posturing from both teams.

Penalty reversed. Lopez steps up and..hits the uprights!

Finn Russell is first to it and boots clear.

Scrum-half Ali Price has played a big part for Glasgow in Europe this season. I expect he'll look to take quick taps whenever he can.

  9. Replacementpublished at 26 mins

    France 6-5 Scotland

Scotland captain and scrum-half Greig Laidlaw has copped a knock and Ali Price is on in his place.

Fraser Brown gets back to make a superb scrambling tackle on opposite number Guilhem Guirado as the France hooker breaks out the back of a maul and bullocks towards the tryline.

The eager French infringe and Scotland will clear their lines.

Elliot Hunter: Stuart hogg, take a bow son. One of the best we've had in a long time.

Stuart Mitchell: Stuart Hogg doing what Stuart Hogg does, first blood Scotland.

Alex Robertson: Brilliant team try for Scotland! Dare I say it, it might be "our year"!

Scotland fans, are you daring to dream?

France are still ruling the scrum.

Scottish spines in the front five are slowly being compressed by the sheer force coming through from this gargantuan France pack.

Jonny Gray, the 6ft 6in lock, will come out almost normal height at this rate.

Sean T: Something has definitely been put in the porridge of the Home Nation sides this tournament, Southern Hemisphere take note!!

Kyran Penny: Stuart Hogg is playing some incredible rugby at the moment, must be first choice 15 for Lions this summer.

Matt Villan: The French prop Uini Atonio weighs the same as 39 domestic cats. So what would you rather fight?

Interesting stats always come to light during the Six Nations...

That was great patience from Scotland, as Stuart Hogg scores his fifth try in last four Six Nations games.

That has poked the hornets' nest.

France come chomping back off the kick-off, piling on the pressure.

Hamish Watson infringes as he blocks off Baptiste Serin and that is a penalty.

Camille Lopez clips over to regain the lead for France.

It looked as though Stuart Hogg wasn't too sure what to do there with the ball.

It was a strange try, but when the tackle didn't come, Hogg went for the line.

Full credit to the forward players for wearing down the French, and Stuart Hogg is at it again!

  19. try

Try - France 3-5 Scotlandpublished at 16 mins

    Stuart Hogg

    It's that man again.

Stuart Hogg has his team-mates to thank for that one though.

With a penalty advantage in their back pocket Greig Laidlaw shows some ambition, Finn Russell jnks and dances and Huw Jones cuts out the gambling Noa Nakaitaci with a fine sharp pass.

Hogg, from seven metres out, stands up Baptiste Serin and dives in at the corner.

Greig Laidlaw's conversion bounces off the post and...out.

It's fierce defence from France so far.

Both ball carriers for Scotland are running hard onto the ball, but they are being met with real physicality from the French.
