    France 3-0 Scotland

    Scotland probing in attack now.

Greig Laidlaw dummies and darts from the base.

    Almost through.

He is hauled to the deck just inside the France 22m.

  2. 'Scotland need tempo'published at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2017

    France 3-0 Scotland

    Colin Gregor
Former Scotland sevens captain on BBC Radio Scotland

Scotland looked like they had run out of ideas there. It's one-pass rugby and the French team are flying up.

Finn Russell is standing deeper than he did last week. Scotland need to find some tempo in their attack.

    France 3-0 Scotland

Trouble in the line-out as well now for Scotland.

Fraser Brown's throw misses its mark and France's backs run at a wrong-footed Scotland backline.

They make metres - almost up to Scotland's 22m - but Huw Jones and Sean Maitland team up to shovel Noa Nakaitaci into touch.

    France 3-0 Scotland

Scotland's pre-match fears come to pass as the French pack - like some sort of Tolkien-esque orc army - shove the visitors into reverse.

Josh Strauss attempts to pick up the ball at the back as he backpedals. But Baptiste Serin is all over him.

    Ball turned over.

That needs to be 100mph channel one ball on the Scotland put-in.

  6. Postpublished at 9 mins

    France 3-0 Scotland

Smart work from Scotland pair Huw Jones and Jonny Gray as they pincer in on Remi Lamerat and hold the France centre up off the Stade de France turf as the hosts run from deep.

Scrum Scotland on the France 22m.

  7. 'Soft penalty'published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2017

    France 3-0 Scotland

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland prop on 5 Live Sports Extra

Scotland can't be giving away penalties for the basics. This is what we talked about before the game.

Referees will not allow you to keep hold of the ball carrier for too long and Josh Strauss was just too slow in releasing him.

    France 3-0 Scotland

Stuart Mitchell: If the first 3 minutes are anything to go by, this is going to be the best game of the tournament.

Tim Riggs: Going to be supporting the home nations this afternoon so come on Scotland (Who would've thought)

Stewart Milligan: Josh Strauss is giving me major beard envy...come on Scotland.

More support for the home nations...

    Camille Lopez

A solid strike from the France stand-off and it is first blood to the hosts.

  11. Postpublished at 6 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

Josh Strauss goes dipping for the ball at the breakdown and gets his wrists slapped by referee Jaco Peyper.

Penalty France and Camille Lopez points to the uprights.

  12. Postpublished at 5 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

The first scrum of the day - on a French put-in - is rock solid for the hosts.

France boot clear. Stuart Hogg returns fire and it is a France line-out just inside their own half.

So many brilliant parts to the opening moments here.

Scotland are putting a lot of pressure on, but it's such an open game. There's such physicality in every tackle.

If it is like this for 80 minutes we'll be worn out.

    France 0-0 Scotland

    Breathless start to this match.

France surge forward, but Allan Dell pinches the ball from the base of the breakdown, flipping the ball to wing Sean Maitland to counter at pace.

Baptiste Serin gets back to make a recovery tackle.

Then Huw Jones almost nicks an interception. But knocks forward after a brief juggle...

Both teams grateful for the whistle and a chance to pay down the oxygen debt.

    France 0-0 Scotland

Jonny Gray wins a line-outImage source, Getty Images

The first line-out is a hit from Fraser Brown as the Scotland hooker picks out the towering Jonny Gray in the middle of the line.

Hamish Watson is knocked back by Sebastien Vahaamahina - 6ft 8in, nigh on 20 stone - around the fringes.

That is the danger. You don't want to be going into contact with this French pack on their terms.

  16. Postpublished at 1 min

    France 0-0 Scotland

Scotland gathered in a tight huddle for a last-minute pep talk from Greig Laidlaw before Camille Lopez gets us going.

Safely gathered by Jonny Gray and hit up by brother Richie...

A minutes's silence in memory of former Springbok scrum-half Joost van der Westhuizen and former All Black back rower Sione Lauaki is impeccably observed.

Right, we are ready. Kick-off next.

  19. 'Scotland by two'published at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2017

    France v Scotland (15:00 GMT)

    Andy Nicol
    Former Scotland international at Murrayfield

If Scotland can play how they played last weekend against Ireland then they've got a great chance. However, if the game becomes set piece dominated, it brings France into it.

You simply cannot quantify the confidence of winning games, though, so I'll predict Scotland to win it by two points.

    France v Scotland (15:00 GMT)

After an ear-splitting build-up DJ set which inevitably featured continental sporting staple Seven Nation Army, it is time for the national anthems.

The Scottish team's voices are rather rattling around Stade de France with the travelling contingent struggling to make themselves heard.

No such problem for the hosts.

Plenty of peep and hoot from the band and vocal decibels as La Marseillaise rings out loud and proud.
