The Lions are almost in again.

Jonathan Davies grubbers one into the path of the onrushing Anthony Watson and the winger clicks into fifth gear as he chases down his opposite number and pins the All Blacks back behind their own line.

    The pressure is building.

    Penalty try, 50 mins

The Lions do make their pressure count as the Maori scrum crumbles under pressure again.

This time it's a penalty try - seven points on the board for Warren Gatland's boys.

Under the new rules, two points for the conversion are automatically added on rather than having to take the kick.

The Lions scrum swings right and Conor Murray makes an opportunistic dart for the line, but he's stopped by stand-in nine Damian McKenzie.

The tourists get some quick ball and keep testing the All Blacks' scrambling defence. Another penalty.

Peter O'Mahony points out there have been a number of those in the hosts' 22 today. Scrum it is.

It looks like the Lions hooker is short. The TMO says "inconclusive". That'll be a scrum five metres from the All Blacks try line.

So can the British and Irish Lions take advantage?

The replacements warming up behind the try line think Jamie George is over as he powers through a huddle of Maori bodies from close range.

Maro Itoje also has his hands in the air. We'll need to see this one again.

We're going to the TMO. Was that a shoulder from Tawera Kerr-Barlow on Leigh Halfpenny?

It doesn't look like he's attempted to wrap his arms around the Welshman, who takes the full force of Kerr-Barlow's shoulder on his chin. Ouchy.

The All Blacks scrum half is getting a talking to. It's a yellow card for not wrapping his arms - dangerous play.

Kyle: Ugo is an excellent pundit but disagree with him there. The Lions are poor in attack and have little threat

Conor Murray does well to get his hands on the loose ball as it shoots out the back of a Lions scrum.

The tourists work it to Johnny Sexton and he puts a big boot to leather that has James Lowe scrambling - and the full-back can't hang on.

What was Tawera Kerr-Barlow doing there? Everyone in the stadium could see the scrum-half was offside as he almost jumps over the ruck to straddle Conor Murray.

Leigh Halfpenny will have some of that.

Just been catching up with a couple of knowledgeable Lions supporters in the crowd. "Better but not yet good enough" is the verdict.

Special mentions for Leigh Halfpenny and Maro Itoje but concerns for how the Lions are managing referee Jaco Peyper.

This guy is having a good time whatever happens in the second half.

It’s been a typically solid display from full-back Leigh Halfpenny in that opening half. His goal-kicking has been metronomic as usual, and his kicking from hand measured and probing.

One up-and-under that he regathered in the air was executed perfectly, and allowed Johnny Sexton to deliver the perfect touch-finder. He hasn’t shown much fizz in attack, but the gameplan has centred on territory and kicking thus far.

    Ugo Monye
    Former Lions and England winger

A very good first half from the Lions - Warren Gatland and his men will be pleased with the execution of their gameplan so far.

The opposition are high quality but the Maori haven't been allowed to get their gameplan going at all as they have been swamped in defence and pinned back by quality approach play and kicking from Johnny Sexton and Conor Murray.

Those two, along with Taulupe Falateau, George Kruis, Jonathan Davies and Leigh Halfpenny, have been the brightest of the Lions so far.

As you would expect from the Lions' coaches, the boys are well drilled and showing that they can replicate the same intensity and physicality as they showed in the Crusaders win.

Expect to see more from the Maori in the second half, this truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity for them. Soft penalties are the only area of real concern for the Lions, something which simply needs to be better with the Test series on the horizon.

All in all a good 40 minutes, more of the same come the second half please!!

You can put your questions to Ugo after the game - head over to BBC Sport's Facebook page, external for his post-game Facebook Live.

Plenty of Lions memorabilia on sale in Rotorua. Warren Gatland's side have been a little more ferocious than their cuddly counterparts below.

Will we see some tries from the tourists in the second half though? Only one on tour for the so-called 'Saturday side' so far...

Kyle: Boring scrappy performance from the Lions. Instead of always going for goal. Go for the tries.

Trevor Thompson: Why is anyone surprised by the lions call ups? Last time Tom Court got a game just because he was on holiday in Australia

Stoney: Shock horror players don't know the rules of the game they are paid copious amounts to play. Connor Murray shame on you.

There's the hooter. What can the Maori All Blacks do with the last play of the half?

Charlie Ngatai hits the line at speed and takes a couple of red jerseys with him, but the Lions gobble him up and win the penalty.

Conor Murray kicks directly into touch... and now the Lions have to win the line-out.

He's told he had to tap first, and then kick.

Nehe Milner-Skudder gets a chance to open his legs for the first time as he scoots away down the near touchline before being tacked down by Jonathan Davies.

Some more indiscipline from the Lions though as they give away another penalty.

Damian McKenzie's just tried his luck from further out, but he opts for the corner this time.
