Rotorua is located in the Bay of Plenty region in New Zealand's North Island.

It's a place that you can smell before you even get to, think rotten eggs.

That's due to the geothermal activity with its geysers and hot pools.

The city also showcases the country's Maori culture.

Right then, what do you know about today's opposition?

The Maori All Blacks are a historic team representing the proud culture of New Zealand.

All players must have "Maori whakapapa" or genealogy confirmed in order to represent the side.

The last time the Maori All Blacks met the Lions was on the disastrous tour of 2005 when Clive Woodward's side lost 19-3.

But that is the Lions' only defeat in eight encounters.

Get Involved - Lions call on merit or geography?published at 07:56 British Summer Time 17 June 2017

    #bbcrugby

Eddie Jones is not impressed with Warren Gatland's call ups, saying that players should be called up on "merit rather than geographical proximity"

Do you agree? What do you make of the call ups?

Nick Powell: Gatland knew he'd need extra players, could have put some Eng/Ire players on a plane a week ago and they'd have adjusted by now.

Phil Smith: Gatland's acting like a teenager picking GCSE subjects - geography over history.

John McEnerney: Definitely on merit Ringrose & Joe L should have got the call Brown Zebo Earls & Ford as well.

There has already been some action today at the Rotorua International Stadium, where England women maintained their unbeaten run on the tour of New Zealand.

The Red Roses won 29-21 against the New Zealand Maori to follow up wins over Australian and Canada.

England went in front early on when Emily Scarratt crossed, but New Zealand hit back with Kendra Cocksedge scoring a fine individual try and Portia Woodman then intercepting and racing clear.

Abbie Scott went over on the stroke of half-time for England to level the scores at 14-14 and further tries from Lydia Thompson, Marlie Packer and Vicky Fleetwood completed their third win in as many matches.

Victoria Subritzky-Nafatali touched down at the death for New Zealand, but they could not prevent England from completing their preparations for the 2017 World Cup, which starts in August, in style.

Lions coach Warren Gatland disagrees with Jones, saying the players he has brought in can "hit the ground running".

"Bringing in these players from an identical time zone, who can hit the ground running and step straight in rather than having to adjust following long-haul travel will help us manage players before the first Test, give us quality training numbers to prepare properly as well as offering us options for selection for the Chiefs match," he said.

One man who isn't happy about the Lions call-ups? Eddie Jones...

The England boss told BBC Radio 5 live that selection should be on merit, not based on location.

"It's only a 13-hour trip from here to New Zealand," said Jones. "The [England] boys could be there.

"The Lions is a prestigious team - when you become a Lion, you're remembered for life.

"My only comment would be I would like to see it picked on merit rather than geographical proximity."

So why has Warren Gatland decided to add to his British and Irish Lions squad?

Well, flanker Ross Moriarty has just been ruled out of the rest of the tour with a back injury - he hasnt' featured since the opener against the Provincial Barbarians - and Gatland has a few other injury concerns.

Fly-half Owen Farrell is out of today's game and may miss the first Test against the All Blacks after suffering a quadriceps injury in training, while full-back Stuart Hogg has left the tour with a facial injury.

So it's Wales and Scotland players who get the nod from Warren Gatland, with the Scots currently winning in Australia and the Welsh having played Samoa in Auckland.

England, meanwhile, are over the other side of the world in Argentina, and Eddie Jones says some of his players have missed out on a call up due to the location of their tour.
