    Much, much better from Saints.

The encouraging start brings points and after playing their way through their phases, space is created out on the left allowing Lewis Ludlam a simple try.

Harry Mallinder makes no mistake with the conversion.

Saracens start by testing Saints full-back Ahsee Tuala with a deep kick but he does well, skipping past a couple of challenges and gaining decent ground.

Something to cling on to for Northampton Saints as we kick off the second half?

They trail 41-3 against Saracens at Twickenham, but it could have been worse. No honestly.

Sarries scored seven tries but missed 11 points in kicks.

A few of those were very tough admittedly. But that 38-point deficit could have been 49 points.

Wasps thrilled with their expansive style last season and made the Ricoh Arena a fortress, ending the season unbeaten at home.

But their campaign ended in disappointment by losing to Exeter in the Premiership final at Twickenham.

Director of rugby Dai Young is looking for them to go one better.

"There's a bit of hurt from last year, but I don't listen to too much exterior noise," he told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

"Obviously I expect us to be competing again this season. We've just got to be a little more accurate."

    HT: Saracens 41-3 Northampton

Tom Collins makes a rare break as Saints end the half on the attack. But that is hardly representative of the game.

There's been seven tries for Saracens who have dominated from the first minute. They have been simply majestic.

Vincent Kock has deserved that. He has been exceptional carrying the ball. More great support play sees him power over from ten yards out.

The Northampton half-time team-talk will be interesting.

    Saints are being blown away.

More turnover rugby and more sloppy play from Saints and Sean Maitland is over for his hat-trick. He strolls over in the corner.

Another difficult kick is missed by Alex Lozowski.

Sarries have been awesome, but it has been woeful by Saints.

    Wow. Just wow.

More incredible handling from Saracens and Sean Maitland is over for his second try.

Sarries run the ball from deep and Schalk Brits once again shows his ball skills, delaying his pass to perfection and allowing flying winger Sean Maitland to go over in the corner.

Alex Lozowski is just off target with a tough kick.

This is a rout. That is the fourth try and a bonus point and we've only played 29 minutes of the first half.

Northampton came here saying they had a real chance because half a dozen on Saracens' top players aren't playing.

This is a mountain for them to climb.
