I reckon that puts the northern and southern hemispheres about even.

All very well two years before a World Cup though isn't it?

Let's just look forward to an imponderable Six Nations, coming at you early in 2018.

    Bye for now.

Wales coach Warren Gatland: "It was important for us. We deserved it and it was nice to finish the autumn on a win.

"Some of the stuff we created early on could've taken the game out of sight in our favour but decisions we made in the second half nearly killed us.

"We need to create depth and play in certain ways against certain teams. Given the injuries we've had, I'm happy we've started developing that depth."

On next year's Six Nations: "We had a really close Six Nations last year and from my point of view, Scotland could make it close and everybody keeps talking about England and Ireland, so that will do me just fine."

There will be competition for places in the Six Nations for sure. If you look at the players we've had missing, we're a small nation with a small talent pool.

But Six Nations rugby is different to autumn international rugby so I wouldn't write them off at all.

South Africa flanker Siya Kolisi: "We're very disappointed. The way we started today wasn't good enough and we didn't have the patience. We have to be more disciplined at the end of the game and not make silly mistakes. We have to be better than this next year."

Daniel J Lewis: Get in. Did our best to try and throw it away but back to back wins against South Africa!

Sean: A good comeback by the Boks but we should never of been so far behind to start. Awful yet again. Welsh side hardly World Class and we’re made to look amateur. Enough is enough.

They deserved it and they were desperate for it. They went behind and they showed great character to come back on the field, win the penalty and hang on for a great result.

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones: "We wanted to finish 2017 off for the fans. We had two good halves against Australia and New Zealand and we had a purple patch from the first whistle but we managed to finish on a high.

"We're disappointed with some of the results but we're looking to change things and come back stronger next year."

"To be able to get a meat pie and score a double on your debut is very special so I'm very happy."

Meat pie=try in New Zealand rhyming slang I presume

It was far closer than seemed likely at the break, but Wales have held off a fast-closing South Africa to win their final Test of the autumn.

Relief? Jubliation? A bit of both. Either way, the Wales players leap together to slap arms and bump chests.

South Africa are awarded a penalty on their own 22m for a Welsh defender holding on on the floor.

    Big boot needed here.

    Green throw into the line-out.

Allister Coetzee takes a gulp in the coaching crow's nest.

Rhys Webb plays it very clever indeed.

Off some ropey ball out the back of the scrum, the nine drills a dead-eyed kick down the line and into the South African 22m.

The Boks are going to have to go coast to coast to snatch victory.

This gives Wales a great opportunity to clear. They need to keep the Springboks away from goal-kicking range.
