    Wales 14-0 South Africa

Leigh Halfpenny runs into Eben Etzebeth like a mouse that can't spot the human in front of them because they are so damn big.

    Turnover.

And the Welsh front row come under pressure at the set-piece.

Handre Pollard boots for the corner. A line-out for the Boks, 10m from the whitewash...

Ben Egan: What a first 10 minutes in the #WALvRSA, external match. The Welsh in full flight are a joy to watch!

Alex Smith: This South African team is extremely poor, defensively absent for that second try. World Rugby needs to have a quality Springboks side, Wales could easily reach 40+ point

    Wales 14-0 South Africa

Scott Andrews batters over the Springbok 22m line, but visiting hooker Malcolm Marx, a limpet over the breakdown, secures the turnover.

It is only brief respite for the men in green though.

Another red wave is washing up against their shore.

More nice work from Hadleigh Parkes as he tag-teams up with Scott Williams to tie up Jesse Kriel as the South African centre attempts to get away a basketball-style offload to men outside.

Springbok coach Allister Coetzee is looking very hang-dog in his perspex box in the stands.

    Richard Williams
BBC Sport Wales at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff

If South Africa don't know what's hit them, neither do the crowd.

Not as noisy as you would expect after this start. Curious silence after the second conversion.

    Now they find their voice.

    Wales 14-0 South Africa

Just 10 minutes gone and South Africa are looking shell-shocked.

Another bungled attempt to defuse a Leigh Halfpenny bomb and Hallam Amos is very nearly in for his side's third try of the afternoon.

The Boks are still looking endangered.

Andrew Priestley: A very smartly planned attacking scrum set-piece attack from Wales [for the first try], beautifully executed as well. The Springboks defence was so static.

The full-back was nowhere to be seen. A huge gap exploited well by Wales but it was poor organisation from the Springboks.

    Hadleigh Parkes (con Halfpenny)

    On day-boooo!

Wales' newest Welshman Hadleigh Parkes just wanted it more than the trio of South African defenders chasing Dan Biggar's stab over the top.

He barges to the front of the pack, picks the ball off his bootstraps and plunges over.

    Two more for Halfpenny...

Look how narrow the South African defence is. The left winger is inside the 15 metre line. if you pull them wide, they'll be gaps inside.

It was a great kick. A great try and it will give Wales massive confidence early on.

Converted try - Wales 7-0 South Africapublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Scott Williams (con Halfpenny)

    Straight off the training paddock.

Dan Biggar gets his head up, spots that South Africa are tighter than piano wire in defence and cross-kicks towards the wing.

It is perfectly weighted for Hallam Amos, who swerves inside a covering defender, draws another and pops to Scott Williams to slide over with space to spare.

    Another two from Leigh Halfpenny.

South Africa didn't deal with that to the best of their capability. A mile away.

  15. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Wales 0-0 South Africa

The first bit of biff in midfield between the forwards as Cory Hill and Kristian Dacey rumble on.

Leigh Halfpenny hoists a monster up and under.

Scrum-half Ross Cronje has a big hole in the bottom of his bread basket. The ball skips loose.

Steff Evans pokes a grubber forward for himself to chase but full-back Andries Coetzee does a decent job of clearing up the mess.

  16. Kick-offpublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

Wales v South Africa (14:30 GMT)

Eben Etzebeth, eyes screwed tight shut, belts out the South African anthem.

Now, with the backing of 70,000 plus in the stands comes the Welsh reply.

A quick check on Hadleigh Parkes...

The New Zealander's jaw is working big and often. Whether he is adding any decibels is another matter.

    Kick-off next.

  20. 'We have to capitalise'published at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

Wales v South Africa (14:30 GMT)

Wales coach Warren Gatland: "Test match rugby is about winning and we've played some good rugby in the campaign. We have to capitilise on that positive play, turn it into points and get the win."

On Hadleigh Parkes making his Wales debut: "In terms of staying connected with the team and the forwards, he brings a reasonable amount of experience. It's his first cap and we'll be looking to him as a voice on the field and being confident in the way that he plays."
