    Scotland 7-17 France

With 10 minutes to play in the half, Scotland are trying their best to get back on terms.

Tommy Seymour makes a half break down the right wing and his pass inside finds Greig Laidlaw but the scrum-half juggles and knocks on.

France kick it back though and Scotland come again...

"Teddy Thomas a bow. He looked up and saw the space in behind Stuart Hogg. France are looking dangerous, particularly down the right flank. Teddy Thomas is the French equivalent of Stuart Hogg."

"Great work by Laidlaw to cover but the horrible bounce of the ball beat him. When teams go wide against Scotland, and we saw this against Wales, they struggle."

    Chris Paterson
Former Scotland international on BBC One

"The ball was moved to that outside again and France were in total control. It was the cruelest of bounces – it was actually the lack of bounce that beat Laidlaw. Thomas is the man of the moment and he’s getting the space in those outside channels."

    You know who.

The try is made by some good handling from the French forwards as prop Rabah Slimani finds captain and hooker Guilhem Guirado, before the ball moves to the outside.

Teddy Thomas chips the ball ahead and gets very fortunate with the bounce as he dots down ahead of Greig Laidlaw.

And that's another seven-point score for France.

An error from the French this time though as Lionel Beauxis spills the ball forward. Beauxis got the nod from Jacques Brunel today, and is winning his first cap since March 2012.

He's known for his kicking game, and perhaps that handling shows why.

    Scotland 7-10 France

A huge roar rings around Murrayfield as Scotland steal the French line-out on halfway.

Finn Russell kicks away possession and that's out on the full.

A frustrated clap from the fly-half and a huge groan from the stands. That's sloppy.

And here come France at pace through Virimi Vakatawa...

"These long periods of play will suit Scotland because I think they are fitter, and they’ll pick out a few tired French forwards eventually."

Sean Foley: This is more like the Scotland we seen in 2017!

Liam O'Toole: Doumayrou, but said to the tune of “Voulez Vous”.

    That's catchy, very catchy.

But it turns into a messy period of play as Stuart Hogg pegs France back in their own half with a huge swing of the boot.

France in possession, just, as Scotland give a good chase.

Maxime Machenaud urges his forwards to gain ground down the middle, before sending the ball up and it's collected by Finn Russell - who leaps like a salmon to pick that one from the blue skies.

A bit of back and forth after a tiring start for both sides.

An electric start to the game at Murrayfield. Who said this one would be short of points?

A reminder, this is statistically the lowest scoring fixture in Six Nations history.

Scotland with the chance to counter-attack now as they turn the ball over in midfield and are up to the halfway line.

The Scottish crowd are also back in action, and roaring their team on.

Scotland fail to make ground from the line-out drive but they keep hold of the ball well in the forwards and Finn Russell eventually finds Sean Maitland on the wing.

A patient build-up and Scotland are back in the game.

And what a kick from Greig Laidlaw, he slots it over from way out in the stands. Perfection.

    Scotland 0-10 France

Scotland have their first real chance of the game as try-scorer Teddy Thomas covers the attack.

A perfectly weighted kick by Stuart Hogg is drilled into touch by Thomas, and Scotland have a line-out five metres out from the French try-line.

Can their set-piece perform better than in Cardiff?

  19. Penalty - Scotland 0-10 Francepublished at 9 mins

    Maxime Machenaud

An ideal start for the visitors who win the penalty at the scrum and get an ideal field position before Scotland are pulled again.

France extend their lead from the tee as Maxime Machenaud sends his second kick through the uprights.

Matt Linden: interesting start on the #SCOvFRA, external match, distinct lack of normal Scottish fire and determination in tackles. France just seemed to walk up the field.
