    Paul O'Connell
Former Ireland captain on BBC One

"That was almost identical to last week, his confidence is so high, he showed Finn Russell the wing and turned on the afterburners."

    Scotland 0-7 France

Scotland were looking for a good start but they've been blown out the water by an electric run from Racing 92 winger Teddy Thomas.

The crowd don't quite know how to react to that. Murrayfield is eerily silent.

    Teddy Thomas does it again!

A scrappy start, but Thomas picks up a scrappy pass on the right wing and sets off, leaving Stuart Hogg in his wake.

The topknot is over for a second try in two games. And a seventh score in 10.

Maxime Machenaud adds a simple conversion.

"Scotland have got to fly out of the blocks out of that dressing room, but they can’t take them on physically because the French are a huge side."

The flames are out as a cold Murrayfield is warmed by the sight of the players trotting onto the field under beautiful blue skies.

It's glacial out there, but the anthems will add some fire.

  9. 'We have a chance to bounce back'published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2018

    Scotland v France (15:00 GMT)

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend speaking to BBC One:

"Pressure is something we don’t focus on, we will focus on line speed and what the French do in the set-piece. Last week was nowhere near good enough and we have a chance to bounce back well.

"[Recalled scrum-half] Greig Laidlaw is an excellent player, he’s back in form and fitness and his role at nine is important to unleash our neckline and his experience will be very important as well."

Pre-tournament optimism around the Scots' prospects swiftly evaporated with last Saturday's 34-7 defeat, but in 2017 they only lost one Test at Murrayfield - to the All Blacks.

Under Vern Cotter, they went undefeated at home during last year's Six Nations beating Ireland,Wales and Italy at Murrayfield.

When Gregor Townsend took over in May, the side went on to beat both Australia and Samoa during the autumn internationals.

  11. 'Scotland still favourites'published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2018

    Scotland v France (15:00 GMT)

    Andrew Cotter
    BBC commentator

"It says something about Scotland's recent home form that they can lose so heavily against Wales and still be favourites for this one. It also reflects the feeling that Gregor Townsend's men surely can't play that badly again, but improvements certainly have to be made in the line-out and ball-carrying.

"France did show some individual skill against Ireland and will look to boss the scrum, but Les Bleus are still unsettled and there is a curious decision to give Lionel Beauxis, 32, his first cap in six years at fly-half.

"There is no doubt some truth in the belief that Scotland play far better as underdogs but there is also a time where you have to deliver when expected. To revive their Six Nations, Scottish supporters expect, and indeed demand, a victory on Sunday."

France have recalled veteran fly-half Lionel Beauxis for his first Test in six years for the match with Scotland.

The 32-year-old, who last played for his country in the 2012 Six Nations, takes over from 18-year-old Matthieu Jalibert.

Jalibert suffered knee ligament damage in France's opening defeat by Ireland last Saturday.

Centre Geoffrey Doumayrou replaces Henry Chavancy, while Marco Tauleigne replaces the injured Kevin Gourdon.

But Tauleigne has been ill and faces a late fitness test. If he is not able to start at number eight, Louis Picamoles - who has been recalled to the bench - will start.

Further changes to the 23 see prop Eddy Ben Arous and scrum-half Baptiste Serin join the replacements.

France: Palis; Thomas, Lamerat, Doumayrou, Vakatawa; Beauxis, Machenaud; Poirot, Guirado (c), Slimani, Iturria, Vahaamahina, Lauret, Camara, Tauleigne.

Replacements: Pelissie, Ben Arous, Gomes Sa, Gabrillagues, Picamoles, Serin, Belleau, Fall.

Sean Foley: I don't even care about winning today. I just want a better performance and some fight shown

Neil Sheard: Everyone just ignoring Evans knock on prior to the Anscombe no try TMO decision? Wrong reason, but right call.

After last weekend's disappointing start against Wales, Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has made six changes for the visit of France.

Former Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw will make his first Test start in nearly a year in place of Ali Price, who drops to the bench after a tricky afternoon in Cardiff.

Centre Peter Horne is preferred to Chris Harris, while Sean Maitland steps in for injured winger Byron McGuigan.

Ryan Wilson, Grant Gilchrist and Simon Berghan replace Cornell du Preez, Ben Toolis and Jon Welsh respectively.

The team today has 147 more caps than the team that lost in Cardiff.

    Hope for the Scots.

Scotland: Hogg; Seymour, Jones, Horne, Sean Maitland; Russell, Laidlaw; Reid, McInally, Berghan, Gilchrist, Gray, Barclay (c), Watson, Wilson.

Replacements: Lawson, Bhatti, Welsh, Toolis, Denton, Price, Harris, Kinghorn.

  20. 'Definitely a try'published at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2018

    England 12-6 Wales

    Sam Warburton
    Wales flanker on BBC One

"I feel for the Welsh boys and I completely agree with Warren Gatland, for me that's definitely a try.

"England showed a bit more firepower in the first half. Had Wales got that try they still would have been trailing and it's impossible to know what would have happened."
