  1. try

Converted try - Scotland 22-13 Englandpublished at 44 mins

    Owen Farrell (con Farrell)

    Right back in it.

Owen Farrell shows that his game is all-round excellent, picking a lovely line as he hits the ball at pace on the blindside to glide past a befuddled Grant Gilchrist and in under the post.

    The conversion is a gimme.

England have no back row balance. Too much muscle, not enough speed. Let's see Underhill.

    Scotland 22-6 England

Something is not working in the England breakdown department.

They cough up a couple of counter-rucks as Scotland ambush them at ruck time twice in quick succession.

England had prime field position on both occasions, Ryan Wilson looked to be the disrupter-in-chief for Scotland.

  5. 'England have to start winning their battles'published at 17:48 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    Scotland 22-6 England

    Chris Paterson
Former Scotland international on BBC One

England have got to be more urgent and they've got to win their battles. They can't expect to lose battles all over the pitch, as they have been doing, and win the game.

Jonathan Marshall: Hmmm maybe England will play better in the second half... Well played Scotland.

Rhys Cadogan: What a day of Rugby so far... Ireland edge Wales in a thriller, and Scotland shocking the nation against England...

  7. Teams outpublished at 17:47 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    HT: Scotland 22-6 England

England are out first. And Scotland keep them waiting a teasing couple of minutes before trotting out to acclaim and the Proclaimers.

Nostils flaring, the hosts look up for it.

    Let's find out.

  8. 'England replacements are key'published at 17:46 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    HT: Scotland 22-6 England

    Paul O'Connell
Former Ireland captain on BBC One

England do have a big impact off the bench; Ben Te'o is a real powerhouse, Jack Nowell will try and get his hands on the ball, and even Jamie George can make himself a handful. I think a lot is down to England's replacements today.

  9. Watch: Maitland cross for Scotlandpublished at 17:45 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    HT: Scotland 22-6 England

Full marks for the touch judge's pose as Sean Maitland went into Scotland's second try.

    HT: Scotland 22-6 England

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

We'll see what England are made of now, because Scotland are not flattered by this score at half time, they fully deserve their lead.

  11. 'Jones has the easier team talk'published at 17:42 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    HT: Scotland 22-6 England

    Martin Johnson
Former Lions and England captain on BBC One

I think Eddie Jones has the easier team talk in a strange way. His team have been outclassed in every department, and because of that there's not much to say tactically. England just need to come out fighting now, and shoe everyone why they've won 24 out of their last 25 games.

Gregor Townsend has a more difficult talk, because he can only say 'keep going as you are', Scotland have been better in every department.

    Gavin Hastings
Former Lions and Scotland full-back on Radio 5 live

That was as good a half of rugby I think I have ever seen Scotland play.

To score three tries is brilliant and that's what Scotland have promised and now they have delivered.

    Carries: 61-49

    HT: Scotland 22-6 England

    Matt Dawson
Former Lions and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

This is not normal rugby. England may have won 24 out of 25 matches but your opposition today want this game more than anything in the world and you have to prepare to play 15 crazed individuals.

And today they are not making any mistakes and their discipline has been superb.

  19. Update: Scuffle in the tunnelpublished at 17:38 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    HT: Scotland 22-6 England

We've found footage of that scuffle in the tunnel before kick-off. It appears that Owen Farrell and Ryan Wilson have a heated exchange as the players go in after the warm-ups. The pictures are grainy at best. The makings of a brilliant drama.

And good news for Owen Farrell, according to the laws, apparently you can't be sent off before a game begins. The referee only begins officiating once the game has kicked-off.

  20. 'England abject'published at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    HT: Scotland 22-6 England

    Tom Fordyce
    Chief sports writer at Murrayfield

Scotland totally deserving of their lead, England as abject as they've ever been under Eddie Jones.

No tries at home in this fixture since 2004 and then three in the first half alone. Murrayfield scarcely able to believe what it's seeing, England with Arthur's Seat to climb if they are to leave Edinburgh with Grand Slam dreams intact.
