Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones speaking to ITV:

"Ireland were deserved winners today particularly in the first half and the penalty count was disappointing for us. We got into the game too late, another 10 minutes would have been interesting, but it was too little too late."

The England boys on the bench will be wearing special trousers to keep out the Edinburgh chill. I asked Eddie Jones if he might rock a pair.

'I'll need a whole body suit' came the reply.

Usually listed as 'finishers', England's bench was instead labelled as 'substitutes' on England Rugby's Twitter feed on Thursday.

That is not the only change among the replacements this weekend. They will also reportedly be sporting £315-a-pop heated trouser, externals to keep the hammies and quads toasty in the chill Edinburgh air.

    Keep an eye out.

England head coach Eddie Jones speaking to BBC One: "We're moving in the right direction, every game we make small, incremental improvements, so we're getting better all the time."

On England's preparations for today's match: "Last week we had Georgia in, which was great for our set-piece work, and for the rest of the time we worked on our unstructured play, which will be key against Scotland."

Back on 21 February 2004, Simon Danielli collected his own chip ahead of Iain Balshaw and crossed for Scotland's only try in a 35-13 home defeat by England.

Since then we have had four General Elections, three Rugby World Cups, and even a Guns and Roses album, but the England tryline at Murrayfield has not been breached again.

Can this bright, inventive Scotland side pick the lock on the defence?

We'll find out about the drama.

    But intrigue? Check.

    History? Check.

And a swirl of malice stirred in? Check.

The two teams first did this jig back in 1871 and the music is about the strike up once again...

What a start to our Saturday showdown.

I need a lie-down after all that excitement, so I'm handing over to my colleague Mike Henson who will take you through Scotland against England at Murrayfield.

Surely it can't have the drama of Dublin, can it?

England, and Scotland for next week, will look at this Irish performance and see plenty of chinks in their armour. But from an Irish perspective, they'll be happy their key players have performed today and got them a big, big win.

I can hardly breathe! What an incredible finish to a game that Ireland appeared to have won as early as the 62nd minute before allowing Wales back in.

We should have known better, the matches between these two Celtic rivals are never straightforward.

Stockdale's intercept try at the death will have given this Irish team real satisfaction after they had suffered a similar fate when chasing the game in Cardiff last year.

    Rob Jones
Former Wales scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live extra

I think Wales were second best today, but their ability to score tries when they need to is second to none. Ireland looked so easy to get outside of, if Jacob Stockdale had misjudged that intercept, it would have gone through to George North and he would have run the length.

    FT: Ireland 37-27 Wales

    Denis Hickie

It looks as if Wales have got space outside every time, but in fairness to Jacob Stockdale he's read it so well, and he's plucked it out of the air and run it under the posts.

Well that didn't disappoint. Wales go for the win, Gareth Anscombe fires a hail-Mary pass and Ireland come away with the interception try, and they remain on course for the Grand Slam.

Wales have the ball back from the kick-off and they've been given a penalty inside their own 22. Ireland pulled for being off their feet and Gareth Anscombe nails the kick down field to take Wales to the half-way line.

My heart rate is through the roof.

It's so easy for Wales - it's like when they want to score, they score - they just haven't had enough ball. Ireland look so vulnerable defending out wide.
