  1. 'Sexton stars for Ireland'published at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    FT: Ireland 28-8 Scotland

    Denis Hickie
Former Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Johnny Sexton had one of his best games for Ireland today - his kicking was superb. Ireland are very hard to beat here and even though they weren't at their best today they still put in a real good performance.

  2. Sloppy Scotlandpublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    FT: Ireland 28-8 Scotland

Missed opportunities and Ireland's dominance at the breakdown were two of the big factors in this game.

Scotland conceded 16 turnovers to Ireland's 12, the hosts were clinical in attack and their four tries mean England have a huge task ahead of them in Paris.

  3. Full-time - Ireland 28-8 Scotlandpublished at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

Ireland are one game from only their third ever Grand Slam.

    Over to you, England.

Credit to Scotland, they seem to want to play another half here.

They're up to the half-way line now but most of their players are standing around in the midfield.

Stuart Hogg has a go on the left, doesn't make much ground, and the ball finally goes forward.

Ireland will head to Twickenham on St Patrick's day for the Grand Slam.

  5. Ireland 28-8 Scotlandpublished at 82 mins

The clock is on red, but Ireland don't want this to finish.

Are they going for a fifth? No, the ball goes forward and Scotland are handed the chance to finish with a firework display. But they'll have to do it from their own try-line.

Come one lads, let's wrap this one up now.

  6. 'Scotland will be disappointed'published at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Ireland 28-8 Scotland

    Denis Hickie
Former Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Scotland will be very unhappy that they couldn't take the ample try-scoring chances they created - to have three chances, of the quality they had - they'll be really disappointed not to take them.

  7. Ireland 28-8 Scotlandpublished at 80 mins

So Eddie Jones says his side don't need to be thinking about bonus points.

At 65 minutes, Johnny Sexton seemed to have forgotten about them too, and went for the post.

Thankfully for Ireland, he corrected that lapse in concentration and went for the corner minutes later.

I think some of England's players might need to have the permutations in their head in Paris after this...

Duncan: So it seems for Scotland to win the Six Nations, we need three home games with one of our away games in Rome.

Owain: Scotland could have easily won today - so many missed opportunities.

  9. 'Kearney deserved Man of the Match winner'published at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Ireland 28-8 Scotland

    Denis Hickie

There's been a couple of consistent performers for Ireland, and Rob Kearney has been one of them. He's very good in the air and he probably deserves the Man of the Match award.

  10. 'We just need to play well'published at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    France v England (16.45 GMT)

    Sonja McLaughlan
Rugby union reporter at Stade de France

England have arrived at Stade de France and take the pitch to warm up. I just did an pre-match interview with Eddie Jones and asked whether bonus point permutations had been discussed. His reply was short and to the point; "we don't need to, we just need to play well".

Meanwhile over in Paris, Sonja McLaughlan has been speaking to England head coach Eddie Jones about bonus points.

I think he's telling porkies, have a read...

  12. Ireland 28-8 Scotlandpublished at 78 mins

Blair Kinghorn shows another flash of his talent, as he darts over the gainline on his first start for Scotland.

The visitors are still trying to create something in Dublin, but Grant Gilchrist is the latest Scottish player to fumble the ball with the line beckoning.

This is getting boring now, far, far too many handling errors. Gregor Townsend will be fuming.

  13. 'Watson and Leavy outstanding'published at 16:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Ireland 28-8 Scotland

    Denis Hickie
Former Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Hamish Watson and Dan Leavy have both been outstanding today - it's been a great battle between the two back-rowers.

  14. Ireland 28-8 Scotlandpublished at 74 mins

Scotland squirm towards the line, but once again their accuracy lets them down and the ball squirts forward.

Ireland's defence does its job, and this is going to be a comfortable victory.

Scotland have looked off the pace this afternoon, possibly still hungover from that glorious win over England last time out.

The Scots have won away to Ireland just once in the Six Nations, in 2010, and have lost 16 of their 18 away games since.

Can Scotland do it away from home? I think the answer is a resounding no.

Alan Ferguson: And that could just be that! Get in #Ireland, external followed by a blinder of a kick. Yes. Thank. You.

Anon: Scotland don't have the bottle to win away from home in the Six Nations and no doubt Italy don't either - until we have the bottle away from home we will always struggle.

  18. 'Like a salmon'published at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Ireland 28-8 Scotland

    Sara Orchard
BBC rugby union commentator at the Aviva Stadium

Sean Cronin leapt for the line like a salmon there - and it's not very often I say that about a hooker!

  19. 'Cronin bundles over'published at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    Ireland 28-8 Scotland

    Denis Hickie
Former Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

It looked as though Irish maul was going to get pushed into the touch there, but the Scottish defence just fell away and Sean Cronin was there to bundle it over the line.

So, just to hammer this home, Ireland are now 10 points clear of England at the top of the Six Nations table.

England play France in Paris at 16:45 GMT and Eddie Jones' side have to beat the French with a bonus-point win to stay in the hunt for the title.

Four tries for Ireland, four tries for England. That's how the song goes.
